The eviction continues...

Sad day indeed @Stalker1962 been there and done it a few times.
A 1000 acres up in the Dales, rabbits galore, free bunkbarn (or tent if full) accommodation, gone as the farmer retired and sold to a person who..... yes you guessed, bought it for shooting 😭 (Grouse not rabbits)

Or the piece miles away that was quite productive but then someone diverted the A1m through the middle

Then there was the cracking bit of land ideal for a 22rf, or a .222 that I had at the time to test its legs on, thousands of rabbits. I often had between x50 and x100 and that meant cost neutral for a weekend out.

It comes to us all but keep plodding on and something will pop up. I now have two great spots for stalking, as and when and as often as I want, only cost is a bit of prepared meat when available as in pic below ;)

Something will turn up 👍

I to lost somewhere I practically lived on for 19 years. Then I lost an estate I had been on for over a decade. Miss them like crazy still!

The annoying thing was I was heavily into my 22rf in those days and loved it, the rifle, the outing, the terrain. Now with a cabinet full of cf I would cherish the opportunity to go back and if only to shoot gongs. The 1000 acre piece was basically from one hill top across the valley to the next. Besides the farm there was only one holiday house shared by a bunch of school teachers.
Often had a few days there and saw no-one but in winter it was raw. I used to ram the snowdrifts with the quad and end up with all four wheels off the floor spinning in fresh air. A quick drag and off we go again.

Happy memories to one and all :) 👍

I lost 2 estates that I had basically grown up on within a year of each other. I still shoot a bit of land beside each but I picked up lots more when I tried. Things in life change but not always for the best.
Between those two I had all the shooting and fishing I could wish for, lots of memories but at least I have the memories

seems to be common problem, I lost two premise last year due to premise sales, just found out today that another bit I hunt occasionally will be no more as the owner is terminally ill and a fourth landowner is hoping to sell up next year.

But as OP referred to, If you still have your health and a stable environment to live in, life is not to bad.

Sorry to hear you have lost your permission. Its never nice when you have spent time and money on the area. It has happened to me several times over the years. Normally some back stabbing low life muscling in. Usually with zero knowledge and well known for it.
Onwards and upwards mate :)

But sadly often more money to make up for lack of knowledge/available time and commitment to a cull plan

The eviction is complete. We removed the remaining 6 seats today. So 4 gone off to pastures new. Syndicate members with other stalking and we will redistribute these on our other estates. We didn’t lose to another stalker. Estate was sold and they wanted to keep it in house
