Evening gents, and ladies.
I have a question for those of you on here that shoots, or have shot the 6.5x284 Norma. Before you start, yes I have done a search on SD, but seems a lot of the guys that have posted before have either left or not active for a few years. And I haven’t got the answers.
I have a Blaser ( yes I know…,,) and have a .243 and .270 barrel for it. Looking to let both go and get a 6.5x284 barrel. Will be used for mainly roe and fallow with the odd occasion at the range.
1- Barrel life is not an issue, it’s a consumable to me. I know I’m looking at 800-1200 rounds.
2- I home load, can get lapua brass and dies from a mate, I gathered factory ammo is limited to Norma’s Bondstrike only.
3- looking to feed the barrel with 130grain accubonds. Any other suggestions welcomed…
So, before I make this too confusing and wonder off topic, is this a route you would take, are you happy with yours etc? And maybe there are factors I haven’t considered that I should. Looking forward to hearing your comments, Thank you.
