Subsonic lead free alternative to .22

The government would have to offer financial compensation should the 22LR be rendered useless, £100 per rifle sounds low but would probably be fair given the number of cheap old brno’s etc.
How many in the UK, say 250,000? That’s £25m in compensation.

Or will they just screw the 22LR owners and claim they can still shoot HV rounds and new ammo has ‘acceptable’ accuracy - most likely outcome

Nothing compared to what’s being spent on other non essential things going on in the country

even the smaller ranges are onto converting their ranges to lead recovery systems at present .
The standard is going up, it looks like the sand and gravel behind the butts will become toxic waste and require special handling, similarly lead shot will need to be corralled, contained and recovered.
It’s going to get expensive to shoot lead.
As for sub sonic .22’s, for game, that's a UK niche, everyone else is using HV.
International target shooting is going to set the standard, the amount of ammunition fired in competition far exceeds the amount fired at small game.

Correct , i use as many or more CCi Velocitors in my 22lr . I only really turn to subs when i am taking stuff off the garden for the extra stealth . The faster 40 grain bullet loaded in these HV gives me easy shooting to 100 and still very accurate to 130-140 yrds effectively doubling my range . Stingers with their lighter bullet and poor BC - far less impressive indeed

Yerr, plenty of nay sayers re high velocity .22’s I’ve found many of them to be just as accurate plus flatter shooting and harder hitting 👍

Personally I never use subs or HV, just standard target loads.

I think Britain is nearly bankrupt personally.
I doubt they will repeat Major's and Blair's mistake again!
I was heat what they are spending a day on people who arrive on boats and the people scamming the country.
Agreed the country is nearly bankrupt. No way forward now

Reading this some of you guys seem to get on well with HV.
I’m running an Anschutz with 16” barrel.
What do you guys recommend in HV.
My last 2 rifles were crap on it but because of that I haven’t tried any in this
