Honda CR-V mk 3??

Hi all,

I have a 2007 Honda CRV mk 3 as my commuter car. I have had it since almost new, and it has never given me any trouble with 120k on the clock. Incredible reliability and plenty of space.

My stalking permission is pretty easy to drive around with good tracks and although I have a managed with the car so far, I have struggled a little this last season after heavy rain.

As the Honda is by no means a true 4x4, I am wondering if it's worth buying some better off road tyres, or whether it is wasted money on a car without a dedicated 4x4 setup?

Many thanks

I used to have a 12 plate crv and I'll give it it's due,it wasn't half bad off road.Of course the main problem with its electric 'awd' system is that it kicks in when it feels the tyres losing grip which is sometimes too late.If your changing tyres anyway then try something more aggressive, it can't hurt it's off road capability so what's to loose? Except maybe mpg .

A set of AT tyres will go a long way to helping a lift especially on.the back also he
helps had my mk2 lifted Mk 3 will.be done soon. The CRV is much better off road than many.give it credit don't think the auto four wheel drive is the problem so much as the lack of a low box it's just a little too high geared for serious stuff but fine for green.lanes, farm.tracks, fields. Forestry and hill roads.

Thanks so much, are there any tyres you would recommend for the MK3?? Cheers

Insa Turbo if you can get
them cheap tyres ( well cheap for ATs)but not
cheap performance.
Whant size wheels do you have 17 inch or 18
Most mk3s had 17 mine is an EX they had18s as standard not so easy to get insa turbo ATs 18s should be OK if you have 17s

Mine are 17" so should be able to find something

I've got a gen 3 as well and I'm pleasantly surprised how it copes with its road tyres off road. I've promised my self a new set of all terrain tyres if it passes the next mot.

Stick a set of Michelin Cross Climate tyres on it - while by no means real mud pluggers they are amazing good tyres, yet still quiet and long wearing
