.375 H&H ammunition choices

I’ve used PPU .375 300 grn SP & I wasn’t impressed but at least I ended up with 200 cases.
PPU applied bitumen sealant between the bullet & the case neck (as with military RG for instance) & it left a residue in the throat area of the barrel & also needed solvent to clean it from the case.
For practice or even boar it may be ok but if I was going to Africa I’d be definitely be buying something else.

I use the PPU cases which are ok. I have loaded Barnes and Sierra Gamekings which are ok. I would be inclined to have a look at MME bullets which I use for 416 and seem to be the most accurate. I have not had any issues with the PPU (apart from the price) but I know of some issues with Sako rifles. I shot a Roebuck with the PPU and it did not complain at all.
After buying the rifle I probably cant afford Norma ammunition! But I do love it in other calibres.

I reload using Barnes 270gr TSX. My load mimics Sako's pre-PowerBlade offering using that projectile with very similar COAL and MV . It works very well on PG.
My bore scope showed otherwise.
Ah, I was referring to case neck.
To get rid of the junk in a barrel after shooting mil ammo requires a damn good cleaning regime. Butches bore shine and eliminator.
I have used the Barnes 300gr TSX in RSA, nothing walked away or needed a second shot. I couldn’t find the 270 grainTSX bullet but in the UK would have happily used it on everything. The 250 grain TTSX is also worth a look if you’re after PG. The PPU stuff is cheap to practice with but I personally wouldn’t use it on game of any size, especially on a trip!

The Barnes TSX 270gr is that happy compromise of weight and design that covers PG and DG well.

I started out with the Lee die set and the Hornady 270 grain Interlock. I found that, whilst I generally get in well with Lee dies, the Lee seating die for the 375 didn't work all that well (might not have been helped by my using a flat based bullet). I bought the Hornady seating die and that solved my seating issues.
So now I use four dies, Lee FL size, Lee universal case mouth expander, Hornady seating die, then Lee FCD.
For non dangerous game the 235 grain Speer is supposed to be good. I have loaded a bunch of these, but not shot anything with them yet.

unless your rifle is a single shot, or you only single feed it, I really, really would. Even if you don't crimp anything else. The recoil can affect the bullet seating of rounds in the magazine, causing either feeding issues, pressure issues, or both.

Definitely.
The combo of high inertial mass [of projectile] married to higher recoil than on smaller centerfires means cartridges in the magazine will be given treatment not disimilar to that offered up by a kinetic hammer used to unload cartridges.
Failure to crimp can mean that the COAL of cartridges in the magazine can increase with each shot fired. That can lead to failure to feed or jam-in-lands-unexpected-performance scenario.
