Soooooo, after the kerfuffle with buying a shot out remmy 700 in 223 (here is the thread for those who are bored, and yes, it is shot out, definitely, positively and no two ways about it. Kin thing. Remmy 700 accuracy issues) I have decided to go for a rebarrel. Details will be posted when I get it back, hopefully with a picture of it shooting as accurate as an accurate thing can be.
Anyhow, I am going to be looking for a stock for it. The stock it came with is a super heavy one (it had a varmint barrel which weighted a tonne, the thread for the mod was M18 for gawks sake, and yes that was my stupidly for buying it in the first place) and the new barrel I am going for is a light hunting barrel,
I am open to suggestions for an alternative stock but some information to assist.
Currently thinking about contacting shaftwerk.de as he did my 3006 rifle and it fits perfectly after I spent a lot of time ensuring the measurements were correct. But wondering what else might be out there.
What are my lefty brothers using?

- This is to be a light, carry on my back for hours rifle, it will be used for foxing out to 200 yards with a thermal scope, possibly NV. I don’t need to be carrying 3/4 kilos of stock.
- I have long arms so the LOP will need to be able to be made to go out to about 16 inches, yes that much, I have long arms, what can I say. Just think octopus with a rifle, but not able to squeeze through a tiny hole.
- And critically, IT NEEDS TO BE LEFT HANDED. Let’s avoid the, well I shoot a right handed rifle perfectly well and I’m left handed.
- I also like thumbhole stocks. I find the position more comfortable than the normal Style Or a pistol grip.
- I am not interested in buying a stock that needs to go to someone who then has to add a piece to it to make it fit. I had that conversation with a bloke from Blaser one time when he suggested I spend x amount of money on a rifle and take to to a stock maker to make it fit, Eer, no I don’t think so.
