Popped down the sheep permission as they're at the tail end of lambing. Took a mate who's interested in getting into shooting so doing my bit to bolster our numbers 👍🏻😁

Put a target out at 200m and let him have a bashan he did ok, 3 round group of about a MOA or just under.

Got the bait and caller put out and showed him a roe buck through the thermal so he can get used to seeing whats what in the device (XG35 LRF)

Got up on the shipping container for a comfy raised platform and went to look through the thermal to see a frozen screen, no big drama, just switch off/on and reset the device.

I was greeted by not a blue screen of death but a flashing red screen of the world is ending! WTF i thought!!! Never seen that before!

Turn off again, same thing, switch batteries, solid grey screen with icons but no thermal image....ah ha getting somewhere and maybe the night is not lost!

Then a vixen calls out from our right...BRILLIANT! 🤦🏻‍♂️

For the next 45 mins I tried everything I could think of to get the b'stard up and running, he was checking the net for possible solutions, then I checked...nothing!

Packed up dejected and headed home...30 miles!

Both Optics Warehouse & Thomas Jacks aren't open today to get the ball rolling on repair/replacement so that's a Monday thing...can't blame people not working weekends.

Anyone else had a similar issue???

The sheep farmer has been told and is reasonable ok about it although he's concerned for his fee remaining ewes and lambs.

Hoping either OPW or TJ can turn this around dang quick for me!!

Hahaha ya know about 20 mins I did have that dawning bomb drop....haveni been a **** and left cap on! 🤣 fingers tentatively touched aground the rubber lens housing...yup lens cap dangling and free from the lens....f**************k!! Still buggered lol

Remove lens cap
Sorry couldn’t resist it
Hope you get sorted
Good units by the way 👍
Now that is funny, cruel but very funny!
Never had any issues with the 35 so will be interested in outcome.
Always a good idea to carry a pocket-sized torch as back-up.
Thank you.
