Portland Ultralites... (Working Title/Backburner Project)

The Ultralites will be stripped back, skeletonised, versions of my latest Portland Series hunting knives, by their very nature they are lighter, easier to carry, more discreet, easier to sterilise and keep clean in use.

They will of course still afford the user all the cutting power you will have come to expect from one of my knives no matter where you find yourself, on the hill, forest, riverbank or boat, who doesn't need a dependable, slim and lightweight cutting tool within easy and safe reach?

3mm SF100 blade steel, perfect as a primary tool for ultralight fans, secondary carry or backup tool.

The two models shown here are the P90 and proposed P120, 90 and 120 being blade length.

Neck carry, pack or pocket carry, even strap it to your rifle sling or fishing bag, the Kydex sheath will make carry options almost limitless.

Don't expect to use one for hours with no hotspots, they are not bushcraft or butchery knives, that is not what they are designed to do and I make plenty of other knives that fit that bill, however for field use, backup use, get you out of the s**t use, they will be the knives to have.

They are not for sale yet and there is no pricing structure in place, they just make me very excited though so I wanted to show them.

Very excited about these, I can imagine one attached to a rucksack/rifle sling/ bino harness being very useful indeed. Out of interest @Stuart Mitchell have you put one on the scales yet? I’d love to know a weight!

Says the man that always like to berate the obsession over weight of kit in peoples never ending search for lighter gear in preference for pointing out if they lost a pound or two themselves…… 😂

Nice looking blades Stuart. Good to see you're still going from the British blades days. I still have some of your sgian dubh blanks waiting for me to put handles on them.

I look forward to seeing these in their finished form!
