Is it worth a measure?

Lovely buck.... Lovely patina on the antlers. Secondary tines aren't quite developed. I'd say it might nudge gold (if you're interested in medals.)

Instead of tossing them into the hedges take them home and pop them in a freezer! people will actually buy them raw.

Either way I would suspect him to be at least a silver, he's a nice buck without a doubt.

I would need another freezer...

Fair enough, here's me buying an entire 200l freezer for deer noggins...

Might be worth while tossing them in one spot though, If you take a glance at ebay munty skulls sell for £30-40 quid assuming they've got there fangs, more expensive than the carcass sometimes.

Raw heads?
Raw ones go for £5-10 rotted down unwhitened can be sold for 30-40 quid depending on the indivudual, only thing that really matters that there antlers dont fade and they keep there tusks.

Wee bit extra money for honestly zero work, just toss them in a pit and come back in 8+ months.

What do roe bucks ‘naturally prepped’ go for?

I sold 14 buck skulls at the beginning of this year for £150 and that was after asking around and being told that was rather cheap, Almost all were green coloured with zero antler colour and missing almost all there premaxilla, They were on the wall when I started my stalking journey in march 2021, I collected them November 2022 pretty rough shape!!!

The key is making sure there not boiled while ok for trophies for display it actually compromises the bone quite a bit and makes them a bit useless for crafting, It traps oil what rises out the bone and warps and bubbles paint over time, there's also a few collectors out there very anti-boiling and straight up wont buy anything boiled, can rot them in a pit or just toss them in a bucket of water this time of year there cleaned within 2-3 weeks nothing on them at all

Red deer jaws go for £3.50 roe £1.50 and slowly get a wee bit cheaper in bulk.

On eBay? Or on facebook? I’m no longer on the latter

A nice but average 6 pointer cleaned and whitened via peroxide usually between £30 and £50.
Some might take a few listings to sell but come time pretty much all do.
Even just a pair of cut off antlers can go for £15+ which take minimal P&P so are easier to deal with.

If your going to whiten your skulls I recommend seriously rotting them off in water they'll come out spotless after three weeks and will be lovely and clean to go into peroxide, If you decomp them in air they somehow still manage to get dirt and muck on them. Liquid peroxide after its been used once can be put back into the bottle assuming you pin-prick the cap so any decomposed oxygen can escape it can be used on hundreds of skulls throughout the year.

I buy 12% 5l for £15-18 there's a few ebay sellers with customizable percentages and quantities, I think some pool peroxides are pretty high percentage (30-40?) due to risks you would need to dilute it with distilled water though.

Also sorry OP for hyjacking the thread! just noticed he made silver cracking buck.
