KAP Suzuki Jimny Jeep

I actually spent some time working there once upon a time. Looks like he's managed to push these little jimny builds quite well

Yes it looks ideal for that. I'm thinking more of my hedging and tree work where I could do with more space, especially if I have a canopy on the back. But I like the idea immensely of having such a light footprint. I spend a lot of winters going over the same boggy water-logged fields day after day and the weight of heavy 4x4 pick-ups can be a menace and soon have the farmer jumping up and down when he sees ruts being chewed into his field. With some big wide tyres I bet those Jimnys don't make much more mess than a Gator. And you get a radio and a heater.
Seriously tempted.
Get him todo it on a lwb vatara, could have a longer bed then and bonus of a diesel if you can run on red

That sounds like a good compromise. Don't think I can run on red as my understanding is you need to be a farmer with your own land to qualify for agri declassification (though I might be wrong). Wouldn't mind a mk 1 V6 G Vit though. I had a mk II 1.9 diesel and it was the best off-road car I've had for treading lightly and never getting stuck, but it's the wrong body shape for what I need. A 4x4 van is what I really want. There's the makings of that in a lwb G Vit conversion. It's an interesting thought.

Hmmm.
I had never heard of doing that to the sainted jimny then a couple of years ago we found this half way up the glen.

Not pretty but highly functional and perfect for the shepherd. Not sure whether he had used a chainsaw to split it but it kinda worked for me sooooo maybe when my 17 years old girl finally gives up I will do the same. This is her on the morning of her MOT and annual wash …..

I once considered doing it myself by cutting the rear door in half and using the back door glass as a rear window but my skills are far below what is needed even if I was happy to have a bodge job
I paid more than normal by going for the automatic option and I’m really happy with it although I did get the wheels balanced which removed the famous jimny death wobbles which occurs when a lift of the suspension over two inches is done!
I run my flotation tyres on about 8 psi which makes less mess in the wet than the quad on the farm.

I already have a recently installed 2" lift and suspension, which, together with BFG Muds is sufficient for my needs and also maintains some road manners

I do need to talk to them about paint job

I'm not sure whether to keep it black or change to the green above

I'll also have a tow bar installed

Green. Best for sneaking up on poachers.

Just what I need, brilliant bit of kit I am sure. I found my standardJimny very capable and would get in and out of tight spots in woodland because it was narrow and turned well for a 4 x 4.

David.

You can buy jimmys with flat beds here, from the main dealer, for farm purpose only so no tax.

It would be great if you could give us a first impressions review then a longer term test !
There fantastic machines, had one at a previous job I was at, only thing on the big tyres is when going off road loaded or stop start loaded then put it in low box to help the clutch.
