I go bare back, ops sorry, that's another topic! I go bare foot, you can get really close to the deer, no need for rifle, sights and all the other equipment, just the knife to cull them.

I just use any comfortable sock that does cost the earth, lasts a reasonable length of time and isn't too warm

Use Bridgedale Merino blend midweight comfort for hiking, not too hot, padding in the right places, deal with sweat pretty well. But really any decent wool sock will do, tiso have a good range if you have one nearby.

Used these socks last season and literally covered miles, and just looked at them following this thread and you wouldn’t really know that I had worn them

I use the lightweight socks made by Rovince, fine for spring, summer and autumn use and so far I haven't had any ticks crawling up my legs!
