Recommendation for stalking socks !!!

They are tough , but tend to go hard and thin reasonably soon . Always buy Wool like these though its the best as so long as you dont take wool off when wet they will still insulate well

Sorry you had a bad experience with these socks.
I’ve had mine a year and not had these issues !!
No hardness or thining and very comfortable and the reason I bought 2 further pairs at the show today.
Warranty?
FFS 🙄

Jesus, they're socks man
Yes, they're socks.
Look at the most recommended socks on this site: Darn Tough. Crap name, but very good. Also quite expensive. Why are they the most recommended? Well, apart from being very comfortable and foot health friendly, they have a lifetime warranty. If they wear out, you just send them back and get another pair FOC.
Do these socks recommended by the OP have a similar warranty? That's what I wanted to know.

You are Welsh, aren't you ?
I have a pair of Darn Tough, they're decent, if a bit nippit. Surprising given the general prevalence of massiveness over the pond.

These socks were basically what was MoD issued before they were changed to black across all three services.

They’re OK, but there is better. High Merino content is best. Costco trail socks take some beating and don’t cost the earth. That said, socks are a very personal thing.

I was given some pairs of Finisterre socks. They are really good - pretty much pure wool. You can wear them for a few days without getting smelly, and last a long time. Only downside is they do need gentle washing and are quite expensive, but cry once buy once.
