Magazine feeding 22-250 AI

I'm new to using a 22-250 but bought it with the view to having it rebarreled at some point in 22-250 AI.
My question to those in the know , does the cartridge feed well from a magazine or does the case design prove problematic ?
It'll be built on a T3 and am hoping to be able to use the standard magazine .

Thanks in advance.

This should feed as the case is presented from the T3 magazine almost in line with the centre line of the bore

I emphasise “should”

I had a 595 in the same cartridge which fed reasonably problem free providing I didn’t feed / cycle too vigorously

I had a lot of feeding issues with a t3 action and standard magazine. In the end I modified the magazine by shortening the available room in the magazine to just fit the round ( a Swede in this case). A 5mm block of aluminium was used as a spacer in the magazine and the plastic pusher up thing shortened. Now it feeds fine unless you run the bolt very slow then the case lip snags on the feed ramp somehow and it snarls up. At normal speed it now runs flawlessly but I was surprised how much fiddling was required for a supposedly rock solid action and magazine combo.

A Swede is long action mag?

I have a Remington 700 rebarrelled from .22.250 to .22.250 AI and a conversion to take a accuracy international magazine. If I put 5 cartridges in the magazine I have feed problems but with 4 no problem. I would not bother to do this conversion again as a standard .22.250 is fine. Also you cannot buy .22.250AI cartridges so need to be a reloader although .22.250 factory cartridges will still go work in it.

keep the 22-250 awsome round,, bin their done that on a 22-250 ai, i saw no benifit over the standard 22.250, it didnt shoot or kil quarry any better infact it was a waste of money, never had a problem with the 22-250. save your money bs.

I've used an ai in Remmy 700 but it was floor plate and recall reading about people having issues with a magazine feed . I think there was a comment about the need for them to feed from near the bore centre line 👍
Cheers

Have a similar issue with my CZ527, is it possible there's too much spring tension?

Nowt wrong with the standard 22/250 🤷‍♂️

Just fancy an ai . Not dissing the 22-250.

I'm a reloader and like everyone else seem to have landed on a 36 grain of N140 with a 50g Vmax sat on top . I'm not sure if Norma are still producing brass ?

Or just go 22 Creedmoor ?

Do you work in Hornady's marketing dept , ya monkey ? 🐒

I bought the T3 22.250 as a project , I've no issue's , other than the barrel being a 20" slow twist , which limits bullet choice . A 20" varmint barrel doesn't really make sense to me . In fact given that I paid very little for it , I'm surprised at how well it shoots . Half expected it to be shot out .
I'm not sure why the 22.250ai caught my attention , I'm not one who chases higher velocity, I think Ackleys' design ethos for this caught my imagination . Otherwise I'd be looking at a CM .
I may just put a slightly longer / fast twist barrel on in a slightly lighter profile .

Thanks everyone, more food for thought .
