Thoughts on the ATN Mars LT Ultra Light (160x120) 60Hz Thermal Rifle Scope

Hello all, some advice please:

I find myself having to shoot more rabbits than ever before and as such I planned to get a NV scope (already have an alpex for my .243 but dont want to switch it about).

It is to be mounted on a .22 Rim Fire so wont be shot beyond 100m. Looking at some of the IR NV devices I stumbled across the ATN Mars Lt Ultra Light (160x120) 60hz thermal scope.

I wasnt planning on getting thermal but this scope is in my budget and would be interested to know peoples thoughts on:

1.Quality
2.Quality of image out to 50/100/150m in reasonable conditions (would it allow me to clearly identify a rabbits head?)
3. Any experience with it on a rimfire
4. Any comparisons that can be drawn to an a pulsar axion key in terms of performance.

From the OPs description, the scope he is asking about is this ATN MARS LT 3-6X19 160X120 60HZ Thermal Rifle Scope **The Ultimate Rat Basher**
This scope has a 17 micron 160x120 pixel sensor with a 19mm objective lens.
It has an RRP of £869 but is being sold for £400 (although out of stock)
There is nothing to suggest that these scopes are seconds, refurbished and anything other than brand new, so the question must be asked as to why they being so heavily discounted.
That being said, I simply don't think the combination of a 17 micron 160x120 sensor and a 19mm objective lens will produce an image with sufficient detail and clarity to positively identify and humanely shoot a rabbit size target at typical rimfire ranges.
It's worth noting that all the other 19mm thermal scopes sold by OW have either 256x192 or 320x240 sensors and are all 12 micron
A 12 micron sensor and 19mm lens produces an image with around 50% more detail than a 17 micron sensor and 19mm lens
It's informative to note that Optics Warehouse describe the scope as the "ultimate rat basher" - implying that is a very short range scope.
Given their desire to sell products, I'm sure that if they felt it excelled in any other areas they would make that known.

I want to spend less than £800 as otherwise i may as well buy another alpex. Very happy with NV and would actually prefer IR over thermal, I was just suprised at the low price of the ATN thermal

Buy a sightmark wraith. I don't think the spec of the ATn thermal would be good enough. You'll only see blobs.
