Think my driver gets it from Tescos
Another tip...avoid supermarket fuels!Think my driver gets it from Tescos
See these tanks. Long term diesel storage tanks I made.I’d say the fuel thing is total nonsense.
They go into limp mode. That happens when you pick up dirty fuel as well. It's simply a matter of replacing the fuel filter.Nope, the engine would of stopped. The moment a hp diesel pump fails the engine stops, I dare say also that as soon as the ECU sees a rise in excessive amperage draw from the pump it shuts it down and the engine stops. That or a light comes on.

I reckon that there are some that do that without even starting the motor.Thrash it's tits off regularly.
I did say buying VW was the first mistake....A well known problem on some VAG diesels. The high pressure pump starts to break up and deposits fine metal particles in every part of the fuel system. Can only be fixed by replacing every part in the fuel system. tank, pump(s),filter(s) . all fuel lines, injectors etc. The fuel rubber thing sounds like cobblers. My mates diesel A5 died one day because of the fuel pump failing and was deemed to be beyond economical repair.
The day diesels go back to a proper jector pump and proper jectors is the day I have another!Dare I say get an old landrover??? Lolmy runs on almost anything a bit greasy
Apparently the fuel pump is after the fuel filter in a crafter ?Surely if little bits of rubber or metal were getting into the fuel system then the fuel filter is at fault. What’s the harm in fitting another in line filter as close to the engine as possible to catch any remaining stuff.
There is a known problem with bio diesel causing bugs to grow and mess up stored fuel.
I had an 06 Rav 4 that needed a new injector but at 400 each for a car worth 3k I had only 1 replaced.
It sounds like they’re clutching at straws and they haven’t a clue what’s wrong, I don’t think it’s fair they charge you the full amount for not fixing it. Id be too embarrassed to do that.
