Least favourite phrases on SD

Those threads that are started to vent built up intolerance of others on this site that get under someones skin because they lack the emotional maturity to deal with people in an online, moderated forum for folk with a shared interest.
Go on then, why don't you - ruin it all with your well thought out, well reasoned and perfectly sensible argument...

"...lack emotional maturity..."

Well. You can, you can...

No, you are good.
God alone is good. I think I'll add this modish use of good to mean a person is well, correct, OK etc. to the least-favourite usage list; It is on a par with 'Can I get...?' for 'May I have...?' Grrr.
Educate me please, have i been going round the twist for nothing?😮
My understanding is that in English, acronyms take the indefinite article appropriate to the way the acronym is pronounced. An Eff-Ay-Cee.
Or do you actually say 'a FAC'?

Finally, this thread's picked up, and switched into grammar pedantry! I'm with @Dalua

My learning was that you write 'a' or 'an' depending upon how the word is verbalised. How one says it when read aloud.

If it starts with a consonant sound, choose 'a'; if it starts with a noun sound, choose 'an'.
So, it's "an SLR", "an LMG", "a SAM", "an EMP", "an IED", "an MTB", "a USP".......

The classic is hotel, depending if you drop the 'H' when saying the word; "an 'otel" versus "a hotel".

I have no idea why it's "an umbrella" and "a U-boat" though. God I love English.
