Any info about optics-world.nl?

Hello guys... So I found myself dumb to not search for a legitimacy of this shop before I made a purchase of a Reddot and bits for my Glock for more then 900Euros without VAT billed to my company. I made it in December 2020 and Thomas is still keep writing that it is on the way and when I wanted to cancel my order he claims that it is ordered personally to my name so he looks (2months) if he could cancel it. After reading your experiences with this shop I wrote a review on FB and Google reviews :

"NOT A GOOD SHOP. I made and pay my order at December 2020 for a RedDot and bits for my pistol for 900Euros and since then all the mail were about that is it on the way from US for another 5 months. I bought it elsewhere and try to cancel my order but nothing happens. I contacted a lawyer in NL to solve this problem for me because. I DO NOT RECOMEND THIS SHOP!!!!!!"

... and imagine what happened :D

2 minutes after the review an email from Thomas came to my inbox :

"Hi Juraj Cermo.
As of today 16:00 you are fully liable for all damages, this can be extremely high with a turnover of 60,000,000, but this will be determined by the court.
You will receive a message from our lawyer by post next week, it is important that our lawyer knows who your lawyer is.
If you want to prevent this, you must remove it immediately within 24 hours.
Sometimes it is better to think before doing any deliberate harm.
Thank you.
---
Met vriendelijke groet, Kind regards, Mit freundlichen Grüssen,
Thomas van Veghel"

So I filled up the contact form in the lawyer company website and we'll see what will happen.

Thank you for your advises (specially NEO) and I will inform you what will be next. Thank you guys.

Thanks to all that is because of you I didnt buy anything from the NL Shop where I was about to buy Eoctech hardware. I shall avoid it now big time

Hi guys, To be honest, I have got nothing but praise. From start to finish; Ordering, speed and handling of my queries, delivery to the UK, documentation needed to import in to the UK, and pricing, was second to none. I am certainly a happy customer and highly recommend this company.

Please note if you buy one of these products abroad and it breaks then you may have to post it abroad to get it fixed, thus negating any savings and thermals are known to have a higher failure rate than, a scope for example.
Yes good point, also if we don’t support our own U.K. based Field Sports retailers we will lose them and there are plenty of very good ones here

I had a very good experience with them as mentioned before. Warranty, as with most products, is with the brand itself but retailers are happy to deal with issues on your behalf.

That is not correct. Your contract is with the retailer, not the manufacturer. The fact that a number of manufacturers do, deal direct with warranty is one thing, but in a court of law, the responsibility is with the retailer.

Yes, you are absolutely right. The manufacturer warranty is a peace of mind I suppose and dealing with a non-uk retailer shouldn't be an issue if anything goes wrong with the product.

As you can see, we have the highest score on Google compared to Optics-Planet and on Trustpilot. And all the complaints here are old complaints... you can't keep repeating that... we are premium dealers for many brands (Swarovski etc). And with so many customers each year then it is impossible to keep everyone happy.

And warranty is never a problem. We have a permanent DUAL-USE permit so that can go very quickly :)

I am not repeating any complaints. I have never bought anything for you and have no idea if you are good bad or indifferent. I was correcting a point that was made, If somebody has a warranty or issue, their claim or point of contact is with the retailer who sold them the unit And not the manufacturer.

The problem is that more and more manufacturers have their products repaired in other countries and that is very annoying for the customer. This takes time and especially when it concerns products that are classified as military, a permit is required per EU country. And many manufacturers do not want dealers to repair their products in order to continue to guarantee quality.

I do not disagree with that. In fact, unless you are an approved repairer, if anyone touches the product then the warranty is voided. There will be few people with the necessary skill.
However, I was speaking about the legal position. if someone wanted to seek legal redress, they would go (in the first instance) to the retailer not the manufacturer.
But let’s take an example…… I buy a product that is manufactured in China but I bought it from the shop down the road. The item breaks due to a manufacturing fault. If I post it back to China for repair, I have to pay the cost, and have the problem of dealing with China And all the hassle that entails. It may take longer, but I would prefer to go back to the shop I bought it off and let him deal with the issues.

Unless someone knows different, because the law goes on case law, and perhaps precedent has changed.

Agree! The problem is that manufacturers often want to solve this themselves, while the dealer also follows education and training for this and is then not allowed to do anything... (with night vision as an example).
