Applications open again for this year, I know in the past people have got funding for DSC1 and (I think) the BDS Deer Management Course, I assume the new DMQ Deer Mgt Certificate will be included this year.

I got funding for a chainsaw refresher course and the process was simple

Unfortunately most of the funding is now gone. reply from them about funding available:

The fund is only open for instructor courses, all other course funding is now allocated.

Best regards

Sorry but I can't comment on your personal experiences with regards to applying for this grant,so I can only apologise if you had a unpleasant experience. But I think this offers a great opportunity for the vast majority of people to access to cheaper training and up skilling themselves, now that must be a good thing surely.
I agree great idea however no reply to emails not great. I applied re a dsc1 at well known basc certified course in Northumberland. Was told not on the list however pass details and they wiukd put them on. Passed details received reply stating that the fund was full and they were removing my application.

Hi.

(Just joined).

For reference/clarity, the FC grant scheme is closed for all grant applications for FY2023-2024 & FY2024-2025, for all courses except "Instructor & Safety Courses". These being:
  • Instructional Techniques - Lantra certificated
  • First Aid at work +F (This is the 3 day first aid course and the +F elements)
  • First Aid at Work +F Bolt-on (This is a 2-3 hour course for those with an existing in-date first aid certificate)
  • Emergency First Aid at Work +F (This is the 1 day first aid course and the +F elements)
So if you need to do a +F first aid course to get on a permission, the grant scheme is still (just about) open for grant applications, but you'll need to be quick if you want to apply for a grant.

Hope that helps.

Chris

Can't remember when I applied for the grant? but missed out and was put on a waiting list.
Just had an email suggesting I have got it if still required. Anyone else apply and receive the same?

Same - was late to apply for the first round of funding and having been on a waiting list, received a similar email a year later saying new funding was available.

Just completed my ADM with Jelen thanks to the fund, so think this is an excellent opportunity for interested people if the new funding window has once again reopened. 👍

Yes, just got one through for a chainsaw course that I applied for on behalf of one of my Rangers. To be honest, the admin of this has been a nightmare but worth persevering with for the free funding.

Great news. No update on the website as of now, but hopefully once they go through the waiting list there will still be some funding left.
