Pulsar Thermion 2 XP50 PRO LRF Crashing.

Just an idea and I don't have a thermion my self. But can you run them with just the internal battery and see if it still crashes. Also maybe run the internal battery down and then run it with the external battery to see what happens. Might give you an idea what is causing the problem

Put a piece of card in the top of the battery cover of my xq50 & shot it tonight without it freezing, only 1 shot but seemed to work

Hi Guy, So I sent the scope back to Thomas Jack’s and they have sent me a brand new scope out. got it zeroed yesterday hit my target went for a second shot at the target just to make sure it was on and the screen has gone blank. I don’t think it has crashed and I can turn it on and off and I can hear the scope refreshing but the screen is just blank. I’ve let it run out and charged it back up but still nothing.
I can’t believe it had loads of pulsar stuff over the year and always rated it.

I was having this issue with my Thermion 2 XQ50 LRF after one hunt (which it worked perfectly on). Started to steadily decline from rebooting after 1-4 shots, to rebooting after each shot. This is on a supressed 300BLK AR platform with extremely light recoil. I bought the scope in May, shot with it one a hunt in June without issues, did a second hunt in July where it started these issues and was impossible to get more than one shot off. I sent it into Pulsar for warranty service in July/August, they said they repaired a bad internal battery connection and sent it back. At the time, I did not take it to the range and verify it. I did go to use it here in late December, sure enough the issue was not fixed and it was behaving the exact same way. I sent it back in and after looking at it again, they said they could not repair it and ordered me a replacement unit (which I proceeded to upgrade to the XP50 LRF). The units are all on backorder right now so I am awaiting the replacement scope. Crossing my fingers the new one doesnt have the issue.

I am wondering if they just had a bad batch in late 2022/early 2023 having these issues. I have other friends that have the same scope and running it without any problems.

Mine has just started acting the goat
Its a XQ 50 that i have mounted on the shotgun for rats

Have a shot it freezes and i need to turn off and on again

Advised by TJ s to try it without the second battery and return it - its a real pain though losing it at this time of year

I have an XP mounted on rifle and have had no issues with that

Reading this post with interest, had an XP50 Pro LRF cut out under recoil on a 22-250 tried it on 223 and it did the same under light recoil. Sent it back took 3 months to get a replacement as TJ said it was unable to be repaired. Warranty replacement was issued. When asked if an upgrade was possible to XL50 they said not a chance you need a trade account, so asked for a down grade to XG50 and they said the same.

How did you manage to wangle an upgrade?

I dont't know who TJ is, but I was working directly with the Pulsar warranty group located in Waxahachie, TX. They basically gave me a credit for the current price of the XQ50, which is what I paid for it form one of their reseller partners, and applied it to another scope. All of it was directly through Pulsar.

Thomas Jack's is the uk importer of Pulsar. If your going to the shooting show there doing " clinic" there.
Take it in say hello and see what they say atb

I’ve just been on the phone to Thomas Jack’s and I’m sending the new one(a week old) back to them. Hopefully it won’t be long 🤞
