What's this on a cow's neck?

I was out at Frampton Marshes on The Wash, Lincs yesterday (shooting with a camera for a change) and came across a small herd of cattle with these neck collars. From a distance I thought they looked like Alpine cow bells but a close up pic shows this not to be. Any of you Fenmen out there know what they are?

Used for things like allocating the right feed rations to individual animals from automatic feed dispensers.

Or buzzer collars for an invisible fence.

GPS based invisible fence.... kevlar green strap over the neck. Small battery pack with a solar panel on the side. they work very well and the grazing 'line' can be moved remotely. Cattle can be tracked and found on a phone app and zones can be excluded from grazing within the overall fenceline.
