is hikmicro alpex a50t worth buying

It very much depends on what you want to use it for
Tell us about that and you'll maybe get more relevant answers

To be use for everything , deer stalking, foxes, or is a better one on the market
I was thinking that it gives the advantage to use same scope and set for day and night

First Light and last light it is good for deer stalking fallow. - I do not rate it in good day light, not good enough to identify enough detail on a Roe Buck if looking for a mature buck at 100 yds. - I find the scope picks up cover between me and the deer if quite heavy, with glass you could zoom past it.- At night for Foxes with a good IR I can’t fault it. I will post a video at night when I was waiting for boar . No boar but foxes and fallow about.

For daylight use glass scopes are still significantly better than even the best digital scope
However, at low light and full darkness digital has obvious advantages
Therefore, if you want one scope to do everything day, dusk and night then a digital scope is the only choice
The HIK Alpex A50T is not a bad choice because it works very well in low light conditions, giving a very good colour image long after even the best glass scopes have given up
It's NV performance is good - particularly at shorter ranges where it's wide field of view is an advantage.
It is less good at longer ranges because that low base magnification requires the use of digital zoom - and results in significant pixellation of the image
it's daylight colour image is probably its weakest point - again mainly due to its low base magnification and the need for digital zoom and the resultant pixellation of the image
It has the advantage of looking like and mounting like a traditional glass scope and for some people that is a must
The IR illuminator which comes with the A50T is LED based and usable out to around 100-150 yards. For ranges beyond that, a laser (vcsel) based IR would most likely be needed
If your are bothered about the shape and style, then the Arken Zulus HD520 is worth considering ZHD520 - ZULUS HD 5-20X Digital Night Vision Scope
This is quite a bit cheaper than the HIK and its higher base magnification and lack of pixellation when digital zoom is used, makes it better for longer range work the the Alpex both in daylight and in darkness
However, it cannot produce a usable colour image at dawn and dusk for as long as the Alpex

I personally rate the Alpex.

An aftermarket IR torch transforms it for night time use.

First and last light it's really good, showing full colour when it appears fully dark to the naked eye.

Mines on the .243 and have shot foxes from 60 to 250 yards at night.

Have played with gongs during day light and detail seemed good enough (see attached screen shot, 4" gong at 200 yards).

Yes this was my concern that is not quite good for day time

Not so bad resolution
It is not bad, but could be difficult to ID a fallow spiker at distance once Does are out of season. Especially when you only have a few short period to identify and take the shot. I do rate the scope and do not regret buying it, it is on a spare 308 rifle and getting plenty of use now. 30-06 has a glass scope on it.

Day/night scopes are really meant for failing light and night time shooting.

Like as said above.
If you want something to purely use for day use. Then a glassed scope is needed.

But for the dawn and dusk situations the Day/Night scopes come into they're own.

I do exactly this and have my stalking rifles setup with glassed scopes and my vermin setups I have bought 2 Alpex's.
1 for air rifles, and my 22lr, (I just use the different zeroing profiles to switch between rifles. I have 4 profiles setup on this scope) and the other Alpex on my 17HMR.

The supplied IR torch is fine out to around 125 yards or so. I will try a Lazer IR on the 17HMR setup.

Yes, but with larger groups of fallow milling around in front of you, and you sat in a high seat and the original one moves last moment , I will admit I will not drop the rifle down to pick up the Binos to pick another deer then go back to the rifle. The next available in season fallow becomes the target.

Which of the current offerings of digital scope has highest base mag? Is 5.6 highest? Thought id read of a x7 but can't remember Which it was. Cheers.

Just bought one. First impressions good but is heavy but going on a spare rifle for high seat fallow opportunities at last light. For the money seems great value
