Sounds Idyllic Keith, but the reality is that organizations with good meaning can soon morph into a money-making enterprise when the greedy sorts amongst us push their way to the top of the organizations. Everyone has a different dream.
I know where you are coming from with the fox shooting YouTube videos.. but behind those are always the companies giving away a thermal spotter or a tripod system to be "Reviewed" so it's all money-driven yet again, it seems far away from the reasons I shoot when you watch that sort of goings-on... almost like the Countryside meets Hollywood

You started the thread so assumed you’d have ideas. I was interested in hearing them. I’ve no interest in such an organisation.
I’m assuming there will be a badge?

The money side of it is already taking over, we haven’t even agreed on a name for this ruling body.

I personally think the future is looking rather bleak for all of us.
That's a fair point and, judging by the replies, there is no interest at all in such a group/society/federation. I always think that it is better to DO than be DONE TO.
Not long before the sexual proficiency certificate level 1, 2, and ? Will be needed am sure no shortage of accredited witnesses or training tutorials would be offered I fear, but as long as badges issued would be ok with it. Edit. Would not join a federation of fox shooters but would support in principle.
The below is taken from the National Working Terrier Federation list of aims and objectives with simply 'terrier work' substituted with 'fox shooting'.....Just a thought??
- To promote the best, most humane and efficient practices in relation to fox shooting for pest control purposes.
- To improve public awareness of the manner in which properly conducted fox shooting is carried out.
- To encourage new participants to join and to learn from more experienced members.
- To assist, advise and educate the newcomer or less experienced person.
- To counter the activities of those who by their actions, or intent, would bring fox shooting into disrepute.
- To protect fox shooters from all forms of harmful legislation.
There was very limited unity when there where gun packs operating all over the nation . Many where only united in hating the other guys locally , there was more unity when there was two 100 mile or so apart LOL. Well you did need access to different bloodlines !
Seem to recall seeing some folks wearing hoodies sporting some slogan on fox lamping replete with some sticker on their truck just total cringe having listened to them at a service station and not unlike ghostbusters.
Could imagine so many well intentioned total dicks muddying the water and identifying with the concept but if there prepared to pay a large subscription fee coupled with purchasing associated products and attend expensive training courses there is an opportunity I suspect.

‘Twas thinking of the classic pigeon watch/ hitler thing that appears now and again on here, class
Should any enterprising member decide to start such a group I would like to suggest that it be Called f a s c, In time a headquarters would be needed so perhaps an old police station or public house even a disused industrial type building like a mill could be purchased from members funding and shrewd investment eventually.
Hopefully fasc given time could blossom attracting members from all walks of life including academics and wealthy patrons who like a shot from time to time. Best of luck chaps

Surely to put the general public at ease it must be a ‘high powered’ rifle.
