I was listening to DA on R4x last week and wondered if he was still going.

That show gave me hours of entertainment as a child, still does now.

Sad news. Grew up with Dads Army and is one of my all time favourite tv programs. They don't make 'em like that any more

By the very nature of the programme, most of the cast weren't going to last too many decades afterwards. Apart from Ian Lavender, that is. 77 years old is, I guess no bad innings, although just checking on t'internet, the average UK lifespan for males at present is 81.52 years.

The 'don't tell him your name Pike' is IMO one of the all time classic sketches - brilliant - RIP Pike.
Funnily enough I was thinking of this show today - went through Thetford and was thinking about Arthur Lowe's statue - must pay it a visit next time.

My German partner lived here in Kent for 16 years and she loves it too, I get VPN UK TV in Germany and she will tune in to watch when it is available.
