Damn, I've been found outThat’s exactly what you’re hoping for. You want to take out more than you put in and the country can’t afford to keep doing that.

Obviously you are somewhat youngerSounds like a great idea.
Health, eyesight, reaction times etc. can deteriorate quickly at that age in some people.
This would keep everyone a bit safer on the road.
You may be in for a shock come this years renewalI think you should look at insurance, I'm 66 and paying £140 per year for a new qashqai, how much do you think a 25 year old would pay? and who do you think the insurance company thinks is the greater risk?
I am.Obviously you are somewhat younger
I don't consider that I'm looking for "something for nothing" having worked and paid my National insurance and income tax for 50years, I draw my basic State Pension every month with a very clear conscience!

I bet you’d be willing to pay 500 a year for your fac tooI am.
I don’t have a problem with retaking my driving test tomorrow if it was required of me and I would welcome a move to testing everyone every 10 years at the minimum.
I feel it’s every drivers responsibility to ensure they are still operating at the required standards.
Obviously any change in legislation like this would require some more driving test centres and assessors….
You know what? I feckin well would. Would be the best £500 I ever spent. It’s an absolute privilege to be a firearms user in the UK in 2024, unhindered by the legislation hunters in other countries have to abide by.I bet you’d be willing to pay 500 a year for your fac too
Knew it. Unhindered by legislation…. Really ?You know what? I feckin well would. Would be the best £500 I ever spent. It’s an absolute privilege to be a firearms user in the UK in 2024, unhindered by the legislation hunters in other countries have to abide by.
Middle lane hoggers, people doing 50 in a 70 cos they dont know what a national speed limit is and theres a speed camera !!!!!Out if all the types of drivers (except drinkers etc) I really do despise the unaware drivers.
They never look on their mirrors, a few times ive seen police and other emergency services stuck behind some absolute bubble head in a day dream.
Just out of interest, do you know (without Googling) how often Police Instructors recommend checking your rear view or wing mirrors?Out if all the types of drivers (except drinkers etc) I really do despise the unaware drivers.

Voluntarily ?By a fair few comments on here It makes me wonder how many of you can remember paper licences, green paper licences or better still renewing red licence book every three years? I think it sad that people think average 65 year old is getting slow! very sad. People drive slow for two reasons, one, their brain works slow, very old age, but more often Drugs etc and sometimes just the simpleton gene. Two, they drive slower to preserve life, their own and that of others.
And I have re-taken my driving test on two occasions.
My brother had a Landrover business and used to look after Dad's Freelander. He very often used to bring it in plastered in mud where he'd inadvertantly been off road wirh bits of minor damage here and there that my brother used to sort out.Got my late father retested in his late 80's as we were concerned at his rather erratic driving. We were hoping he would fail to get him off the road without us having to force him, but he only went & passed!
Really yes. Next renewal for me anyway. Anything changed in the last five years ( no) Doctors letter in ( yes) after £65 cash. Paperwork in on time ( yes) Cheque cashed ( yes) . Do I like doing the renewals on line ( all twenty pages) no. Would I pay £500 to cut out all this Bull, yes I would. The truth be known I'd bet the police firearms departments would too.Knew it. Unhindered by legislation…. Really ?
