Any Chainsaw Guru's ?

my stihl ms 171 which ive had for 13 years, has been a great saw cant fault it, last year i didnt use, it i used my mates to cut the wood i needed, then when i came around to use it, it wouldnt start so i took it to my local stihl dealer, nah it s knackered carbs fecced his words not mine, how much to repair it i asked, mmm £185 i told him it only cost £155 new, then he said why not buy another new one i said no thanks and left, i was telling this story to my good mate who said he,d repair it, which he did he gave me the receipt for the parts which was £26 my mate got his money and a nice bottle of grouse bs

Your carb would have been gummed up. A carb rebuild is time and a carb kit. Cheap repair
