Staying at Bisley

I have moved to another part of the country making a there and back run unattractive.

What are the overnight accommodation options like. Any feedback welcome

Go on NRA website and look at accommodation -Crawford lines and the larger hits were always decent value

I have a mate shooting on a comp today there who stayed at the nearest travelodge Whixh are usually decent price

I stayed there for about a month years ago, like staying in a shed.
But the food, drink and company more than made up for it😀.

I have stayed at "Deepcut Lodge bed and breakfast" which is a few miles down the road. Nice rooms, parking can be an issue if it's busy as there are only a few spots out the front on a first come basis. All self service, no staff on site affair.
There is a width restriction over one of the bridges which is very very tight. So you may want to plan your route there and back to avoid it.

I stayed in the cabins on Bisley camp, they were more like rabbit hutches and the pillow was stained but when I pointed that out was offered a half price Cabin on my next visit. I haven't stayed there since :-(

Some of the accommodation offered by the NRA isn't too bad, but some is absolutely dire. No much better than an old chicken shed.
There's also the option of the London & Middlesex club, plus possibly one or two other clubs, but I've not used any of those so can't say if they are any better than the NRA.

As a member of the HAC RC I used to have excellent accommodation until the HAC decided against renewing it's lease on the hut. 😔

Now I'll stay on the lines if I'm by myself. It's basic but perfectly serviceable. Your own pillow and dossbag goes a long way to improving comfort.

They are basic and without heating

Though if you plan ahead and take own bedding (highly recommended ) and a heater of some kind, provide adequate accommodation for someone visiting participating in a comp

Bed , dry room, sink

What more do you need

Plenty of facilities outside camp - supermarkets and takeaways within five / ten min drive plus some on site

The Artist Club provides basic food and one can amuse oneself listening to tales of the balcony whilst in there 😂

flashback to staying in the tin shed troop shelters for Skill at Arms - slowly falling down ...
Hopefully its been demolished now, that is if it hadn't already fallen down, but I once came away from Bisley saying to myself that I had more comfortable digs when sleeping under a hedge on exercise.
Saying that twice we stayed in the NRA Pavilion which wasn't too bad, and once in Dolphin lodge which again was O.K.

Understand that the Pavilion has been refurbished so ‘should’ be half decent now?

St George’s Have a good rep with parking & always seem busy when I pass by.

Used to stay at the Canadian Pavilion many years ago before new management took over - lots of character but no en-suite if that’s what you’re looking for, and you can sit out on the veranda with a G&T and, as a mate of mine once said, “watch the poor people drive past” 🤣

ARC has accomodation & a bar but if the (ir)regulars are in the sessions can go on all night & be quite noisy… food is pretty mediocre too & if you need to be up to shoot at 0830 when the hooter goes the breakfast is ‘continental’ but without the croissants - kettle, coffee machine, toast & cereal all help yourself.

As others have said, plenty of places to eat off camp or get take-away, plus Sainsburys just down the road.
