Now here’s a thought

What about an annual SD members dinner. Maybe same dates and location as whatever that shooting stalking show you all raving about

Etc etc. any other ideas for categories. Is it a flyer

We could ask Packham to present the awards

Get CP to also judge the most evocative photograph, but not the music award as he hates Jazz!

It’s a good idea but probably needs to be spilt into 3 Dinners due to logistics and cost:

Highland
Midland
Lowland

On a serious note I did think that
And do we think it’s doable. Regional dinners voting then a national award by category. We could also do an SD venison master chef

Before I actually bought this site, I organised a clay shoot with local accommodation down south. Followed the next day, Sunday, a free visit to the big game museum I ran.
Needless to say about 20 came to the shoot, and over 60 came forth freebie look round.
This was some 15 years or so back.

Trouble with anything of this nature is good support. And with less than 600 members when I organised the past event, we now have 31,000 plus members.

How many SD Supporters are there?

Tempted to say “way too many” judging by my appalling luck in the Monthly Prize Draw but perhaps an annual Dinner is more realistic with a much reduced qualifying pool of interest?

Black tie only?
We did a new years fest on 31 Dec 1978 at the London Ritz with a ballroom and overnight included.
Car body design contractors came from all over Europe for it. Only happened the once.
