Our Service Promise - 5 day repair/replace guarantee

So this is my experience with ATN it’s not negative but it is 100 percent fact I used to work for one of the larger night vision suppliers at one point we did supply ATN products ,so a unit would come back with a problem we sent it back for repair ATN switched it on then sent it back as no fault found we sent it back to the customer they reinstalled the unit then found it had the same fault so they then sent it back so this amounts to lots of postage cost too and from the customer to us then from us to ATN in the end we dropped the product ,So forward a year myself and friend paid for some Boar shooting in the Forest of Dean my friend had a ATN scope well you now know my view on them so one hour into our night out his scope shut down (needed a firmware update ) that’s was it for him still had to pay for the night
Thank you for this.

Point 1. - that's exactly what we are pointing out is historical. Who did you work for out of curiousness?
Point 2. - Things are not always what they seem, even though we do understand the frustration, and yes, there is a chance that was a product fault. In about 7/10 cases of service returns, we do find they are due to users either not reading the manual, installing latest firmware, ignoring requests for firmware updates, or not registering the product so they are aware the latest firmware updates are available; sometimes ignoring update requirements can cause bad nights shooting, but ignoring the 'low windscreen fluid' indicator will also lead to an issue on the motorway stuck behind a gritter.

Happy Monday

I remember we were at the British shooting show at The NEC you tried your hardest to convince us to restock your units you even offered us free rifle stock battery packs as part of the deal sorry not interested . It was not only firmware problems we had reticule shift problems we had units switching off after the shot . I would guess most of us on here are over the age of 50 we don’t want to spend the evening downloading firmware or installing firmware we just want to insert a battery and go If you think that you can standby your product and it is so much improved send me a unit I will do a product write up ,as for the screen wash and gritter you lost me there

I think many of the scope manufacturers are missing the point with there market. Myself and all my shooing mates don't care for WiFi, recording, Bluetooth to your phone etc etc. we want a quality pic, robust scope and robust hardware/ software in a unit that doesn't weigh 2kg with the ir on top and something with a good battery life. Or better still a unit with a 2sec startup. So you don't have to have your scope all nigh. Concentrate on the basics. I understand that some do want the frills but most aren't bothered.

Thank you for your feedback. We fortunately don't have these issues any longer, hence this was supposed to be a constructive thread :)

Agreed, and it is one of my jobs to do market research and be part of a strategic task force to engage with product design and engineering to get it 'right' where too often products are designed based on what a marketing 'think's' the world might want.

In fact, I will be conducting such research on here shortly, please look out for the post!

All the bells and whistles are unfortunately really cheap to program, and they are not the one's that impact on start up times, battery usage, etc.., removing them could reduce cost by pennies literally, and would cost sales in the US as those features are desired there, so it is a tough one to design a product that is ideal for the European market, and right for the US market as well. However, the good news is, we are looking to do exactly that, whether that means being able to turn off features to a 'simple' mode, or just a more basic production design.

Thank you again,

Make a fixed scope of 10x magnification with no bells and whistles that holds zero and doesn’t weigh a load and I’m in for a look.
Thermal/Day/Night VS? Glass has of course been covered exceptionally well by the likes of Schmidt Bender.
Cheers

Quick D are pet hate - are there any normally tighten up ones?
Hi Ben,

Only the one's provided in the box free of charge with our scopes. They are 'basic' and to get you going essentially, but even our prostaff are perfectly satisfied with the basic free one's from the scope kits.

NV not interested in daylight, as long as the image is good enough to zero the unit, basically make something as good as a Dronepro and watch it fly of the shelves. Personally, in my opinion, all this 3.5 base magnification is nonsense. Zoom in and get a hideous pixelated image. I feel everything is made for the American market and nothing for the UK shooters. I accept we are a drop in the ocean but make it properly with your warranty I feel it could work.

Im not sure about the mag - and i suppose we are all different
My XP i think is x2.5 if i zoom it to acquire my target first and zoom too much it can be very hard to find the actual target

Thank you again,
I am involved with industrial telematics and get a good understanding of how people react to technology especially when the systems offer so much data but individual users have very different capabilities and expectations from the equipment.
I am in the camp for devices that do the core job as simply and efficiently as possible but understand that the recording, Wi-Fi and multiple other options appeal to many buyers for minimal manufacturing effort or cost but do think that such extras should be grouped in an extra ‘Advanced Options’ menu that also keeps all screen icons off the viewfinder unless they are used.
As for firmware updates, the default should be automatic to cater for technophobes (providing the updates are fully tested prior to release).

To make a decent unit to get the basics right, 1. quick start up, 2. optical mag x 8 which could maybe double once, 3. a decent camera that doesn't need masses of IR to wake it up, 4 to hold Zero so you can trust it. 5. a decent Mildot reticle 6. 18650 battery system, 7. no wifi , no recording and no need of firmware updates (has anyone ever had their Drone pro updated )

It's great that there is better support for the Product, I have a 4k pro and stopped using it because it either freezes or shift zero and the picture compared to a lot of units is below par, they look brilliant and detailed out to about 100 yards then it goes very grainy even with masses of Ir. I thought it was my unit, but I have looked through 4 others and they all appear the same, If the unit was as good as the marketing, then it would be the best unit out there.

Thanks for responding. Would you be willing to have us collection your 4K for inspection to check it please, we might be able to sort this out for you? If it's not up to par I'd happily ensure it's looked into. We don't expect anyone to be let down by our products and not be listened to.

Please PM if interested

I've never owned an ATN scope. Still undecided if I will. I've heard all the horror stories & once a reputation is tarnished, it's hard to shake off. But by god, @ATNUK is going about trying to rectify that in the right way! Other manufacturers could do worse than follow suit. 👏👏
Fully agree with that.

Cant say fairer than that
