Best Lever Action for the UK?

Aways had a hankering for a lever action like Sol above !
But again same as her, I’m up in jockistan ….. .30-30 sounds good but all comments on struggling for those energy figures ….. would be for roe 99.9% of time so wonder if any jocks using one for roe regularly
?
Anyone in Uk struggglng to find components ?
Think I’d prefer 125grn-150grn tops

Thanks for the details. I had read that you could change calibers but it required a new barrel/action assembly to be dropped in while the trigger stayed with the stock. An interesting approach. We shall see what Heym comes back to me with regards to pricing. It might make it a moot point. I have read many good reviews on this model as well but I think that’s with everything. I’ve got an Anschutz 1782 centerfire, and I love it. The only issue with Anschutz for me is that they don’t do custom configurations. Meaning that I have to get the Stock, barrel length, barrel profile, etc that the offer. Nothing outside of that is possible with them. Whereas Heym will build more or less what I want in those regards. We shall see.
I think that if you’re spending Heym money, there are better options. Schulz and Larsen would be my choice now, if I went that way.

But I’ve gone the other way: I now just have 3 Tikka T3s…

Lever actions have always interested me always the action that will speak too me the most, bit of a bummer however how unrealistic they are for a person over here.

45-70 Is a common choice since its pretty much deer legal however you see.... I am 5ft and 120lbs plus a lady not the most ideal gun too fire freehand I would reckon, 30-30 would be the obvious choice but again tough to meet the requirements here in Scotland.

I figure a .22 Is probably what I'll actually end up with, would probably see more use than the other two anyways.
A 30-30 loaded with 130gn ain't far off.
For roe I could load 100 gn bullets and spit them out at sizzling velocity.
It's a wonderful versatile round.
I've shot plenty of deer in Scotland and nobody said anything and no bobby popped out the bushes.

The thing to do would be to apply in Jockistan and see if they granted it. I have not seen any clauses for it in Scotland in the guidance to police etc.

I’ve looked into Schultz and Larsen previously but as far as I can tell they don’t have an importer here in the USA. So if anyone knows differently, let me know as I think they’re a fine rifle for sure.

Lever actions are nice, and I'd love one for stalking, but at the end of the day a bolt action is simpler and more practical for me. A 30-30 lever action shooting 110gr Barnes would be good but my 220 Swift trumps that in every respect for deer when I start to consider it. For week in and week out deer management when there is pressure to shoot deer, sometimes at longer ranges, nothing beats an accurate bolt action repeater and suitable cartridge.

If I ever have the time and money to fiddle with one I might be swayed by a Browning BLR in 22-250 or maybe even a Henry Long Ranger in 243, but it won't happen soon.

That will mean the 22-250 can be used for all deer species in Scotland.
Ken.

In scotland we have min bullet weights velocity’s and muzzle energy.

So yes you can use a 22-250 rifle using an 80gn bullet with minimum muzzle velocity of 2450 fps and 1750 ft lbs of energy.

Word has it via my local someone is after a 30-30 Winchester 94. He has been asked to source one!

Someone else gets it 😎

Wish ye weee closer so I could have a shot and pick yer brains smellydog !
