Best IR illuminator with Alpex A50T

AS LED gives the cleanest beam with an Alpex, it's what I use.
That's interesting feedback as others have suggested 'laser' as the way forward. I will have to play about and find the best thing to suit I think. out of interest what LED unit would you suggest? is the HikMicro best suited or is there something better out there in your view?

Thanks for the recommendations guys. I have ordered a Dark Engine Blade as most advised. I've also ordered one of the cheap illuminators recommended by @Ratsbadboy (thanks for the recommendation) off AliExpress. It says it will take about 65 days to get here, but I thought it would be interesting to do a side by side comparison of a top(ish) end unit vs one that is tenth the price.
I would be very interested to see how this compares as innings the market for a new IR to reach out further

I'd be interested to here which actually arrives first, recent reports are that the Blade is out of stock

Another vote for Lee Polards dfk unreal with nearly every digital nv I’ve used and there been a few if it helps foxes are as clear as day at 500 yards plus I could easily identify three badgers at 780 yards the other night

Any update on comparison?

Si

Sirrus used to be a good torch Bruce? Does no one use them now?
It's still a good torch.
The problem is that the Alpex is heavy and so is the Sirius
The Alpex also does not need the power that the Sirius can produce
In comparison, the Black sun dark engine is lighter and although it doesn't have the same power output as the Sirius, it's more than enough for the Alpex
Those factors combined lead me to think the the black sun dark engine is a better choice for use with the Alpex than the Sirius

Cheers

Bruce

I use these with the Arken Zulus and HikMicro Alpex A50T and Alpex 4K and for myself they provide the best image under 150-200yds (link below), much cleaner overall than the vcsel models.. Much cheaper also and a better flood. Tested a dark engine blade, not for me...

Hi Mate, where do you buy the DFK from?

Thanks

Nick

Both my .308 and my .243 have these from Aliexpress fitted to an Alpex A50T. Shot a fox at 248 yards last night with the .243 and could see it at clear as day : 12.15ï¿¡ 40% OFF|Hunting Ir Tactical Flashlight | Tactical Infrared Flashlight - 850nm/940nm Infrared - Aliexpress
Despite what you may think, you don't need to spend a fortune on a night vision illuminator.
Hello . Do you find the .308 recoil a problem. With the a50t?
I'm wanting to use the alpex a50t . on my Ruger m77 .308 . Using 125 st rounds

What are your thoughts please .
Cheers jay .

Didn't have any problems whatsoever. Mine was fitted to a Tikka T3x using Hornady 165g SST. I have now replaced the Alpex on both guns, but only as a weight saving exercise.
