Anyone have one of this type of folding gambrel? It looks good, but not sure if it will fit in an Ogden's Compact Roe Sack pouch, which is what I need.
Thanks in advance.
Try your local electrical wholesaler for this. You get various wires for fitting lighting. I have some with three loops on what forms a V shaped wire. Would suit use as a gambrel and weight rated too.For muntjac and Roe
2 blunted stainless S hooks 12” of stainless wire, loops on each end
Close one end over a wee bit = sorted
The room you save, if for small deer thin non stretch rope and a small ratchet pulley
No weight good as a drag rope as well![]()
Yes true - for clarity, I'm hoping to find one that will fit in the pouch, rather than the main sack. Also, although I mainly have roe and muntjac on my ground, I occasionally have fallow, and would like one that could handle that. I also find, even with roe, that a long gambrel is better as it allows me to access the back end easier. Why does it need to be folding? There are plenty of small gambrels out there that will fit in your Roe sack! The one you quote isn't one of them though!
Single 4” S hook is all you need for the small deer roe - CWDYes true - for clarity, I'm hoping to find one that will fit in the pouch, rather than the main sack. I hang muntjac and roe off one leg from a single hook which has a cord so I can use a branch which would make them too high. As for getting fallow off the ground with All the sold products you will struggle to get the hanging point high enough because their long legs add 18" also with the gambrel height you loose 6"Yes true - for clarity, I'm hoping to find one that will fit in the pouch, rather than the main sack.
