Primers current value

The rounds/cartridges are the cheapest part of shooting. Decent weight deer in the game dealer say £1.50 a kg then your 2 quid round is a bargain.
75p for a high end cartridge and people pay £50.00 to shoot a pheasant...

7kg muntjac doe at 50p a kg.. ammunition will soon cost more than the carcass

They were indeed
I’m still using some Federal from about 10 years ago with a £26 price sticker on the box. Quite a price increase in anybody’s book!
Sounds like they're still £26 a box?

The only difference is that yesteryear's box contained 1,000x and todays box contains 100x?

I was called out for buying 10,000 Murom primers a couple of years ago, but who is going to do a 280 mile round trip to buy 100 prmers?

A lot of my reloading components I had ordered in, and paid for in advance.. your not depriving others of consumables as they’d not have been on the shelf otherwise… People are just frustrated that they either didn’t have the foresight to invest in their hobby or interest, or lacked the funds to make such an investment..

A fellow shooter at the rifle club I’m a member of had the opportunity to buy in with me on a bulk primer order… when it came to the crunch to pay, he ducked out🤷🏽‍♂️..
Unless finances dictate otherwise I don’t see point of buying primers by the 100’s or even a single box of 1000.. not given how they’ve increased in price.

The problem is, once they know how much people are prepared to pay..........
Same as the government seeing how much people will pay for road fuel.

Whilst I don’t disagree with your general sentiment it’s not universally applicable. For people who are involved mainly or entirely with target shooting, ammunition costs form a significant part of the total yearly shooting budget.
What ever you do as a hobby you have a budget, I don't do clays or game shooting as one is really expensive the other I have no interest in these days. I might fire a dozen shots on a flt on the marsh but it will be a few hours of some very good shooting also the dogs get a good run.
The flip side of the coin is I might well pay for my whole years worth of materials with 3/4 decant deer also I might only shoot 1/2/3 deer a trip so my hobby is very light usage, peoples target shooting hobby will consume a vast amount.
So it is not universally applicable as I personally don't get through tubs of powder boxes of primers and boxes of heads.

Just bought in Aus. last month 1000 Large Pistol and 1000 Small Rifle primers. $200 each so it looks like a little cheaper here.
Grant.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

Bitcoin and primers are quite similar in that whenever you buy them, it always feel very expensive but in a vanishingly small period of time, your previous purchases feel unbelievably sound and good value.
Until they drop 80% in value of course 😂
