Lloyds Bank waning customer service

Has anyone else noticed the systemic decline in Lloyds Bank customer service? It's as if the bank staff have all been instructed not to interact with their customers, all part of their national branch closure plan. Poor show all round IMHO from what used to be an established institution.

Maybe they aspire to be as useless as royal Bank of Scotland. Or Nat west or whatever they're called now. Best move I made 4 years ago was binning them.

Yes but who to change to, if I knew a field sport
Supporting bank i would be with them toot sweet, all scared of their own shadow these days

I've been with RBS since I first started working. They are an utter shambles now. But I really do not imagine any of the others are any better. Any glowing reviews for banking customer service out there ?

Lloyds in Yate could not be more helpful and friendly. At least its open 6 days a week.
Only issue is their crap IT system it is so slow in branch and staff continues to complain about it.
Nationwide service is now dreadful and only open alternate days. Now its show ID almost every time you go in. Completely different staff. Original staff knew everybody asked about the kids and were always exceptionally good.
D

The insurance is horrific seevice aswell, you step out of Lloyd’s into underwriters at the start of the claim & are utter shite.
Cars with NFU & the house been moved from Lloyds to NFU aswell

been with lloyds bank for many years never had a problem until recently, a friend who i had known for what thirty plus years was selling a ride on mower he no longer used so i agreed to buy it, he delivered it to my house so I asked him for his bank detail to transfer the money, a few hundred pounds, transaction was stoped by lloyds bank as i tried to pay him with a app message to phone lloyds bank which i did.

It was the fraud prevention team, passed the normal security questions and was then asked about the transaction, who was I paying, what was I buying, I explained paying a friend, had the mower, etc they asked if I was being intimidated or pressured into paying, I said no, how did I get his bank details, said he is sitting next to me and I have his bank card in my hand, then they explained risks due to scams, I said how can it be a scam when I have the mower? finally they declined the payment 😡 concluding I was being scammed 😡 so how do I pay him I asked their reply use paypal 😡 I said i do not use paypal, what gives you the authority to say I cannot spend my money? use paypal 😡 end of call.

had to go to the bank and draw the money out as cash to pay my friend.

Don't worry when the CBDC is rolled out that's what we will all be using... Lloyds.. Barclays... Natwest will all be doing something else I'm sure of it ..

Well they got HBoS for 'free' thanks to Gordon Brown. Great deal that. Remember them? What happens when you put a greengrocer in charge of a Bank?

Who could have guessed

I’m not with them but have about four accounts personally and two with the businesses all with different banks. Have to say HSBC have always been very good to me and the new online banks like Monzo are excellent at what they do ie banking not trying to flog you loads of other crap.

Barclays are just the worst had a right argument with them last week over something completely trivial when they needed proof of address to expedite a payment and only had my driving license on me as was at the office. Muppets.

I’ve moved to Revolut - game changer. Haven’t used my ‘normal’ banks since

Been with Barclays for the last 46 years (brother first job was working for Barclays and he never left) - not perfect but they have done everything I needed. Using Monzo as my deer business account and very impressed - no nonsense, everything done seamlessly through the app instantaneously with ease. Very happy with them👍 My more financial savvy eldest daughter (economist by trade) use Revolut (?) and Starling.

All the major banks saw Retail (The branch bank network” as “King” 10 years ago but with the rise of telephone and internet banking they are all now on cost reduction programs with branch closures and staff redundancies and this knocks on int customer service levels in the branch. Having worked in the Banking sector the service level in the branch comes down to the quality of the branch manager and the standard that he/she sets and that varies considerably
