Makes my p**s boil!!😡🤬

What a broken country we now live in. Back in time 2 phonecalls to 2 local comrades and six balaclavad chappies would have been thrown out of a van at A&E. The burn down do as you likey types have never seen caravans on fire except on The Snatch, but it can easily happen with all that gas and stolen diesel about, and in many places.
Not advocating any of this but I get the feeling it will happen in the future as people who lose trust in the law will fight "Fire with fire".

Think i'd be putting the Audi in the garage and moving the Landrover 90 on the drive because at least if they stole that you'd be able to jump on your push bike and chase them down

Doesn’t seem to matter if the Audi is in the garage or not.
They forced the side gate, and the only reason for that is to get around the back to the patio doors to force entry.
There only doing that to find the keys or force you into handing over the keys.
If they know we’ve still got the Audi they’ll be back.

Thanks for the comments.
The Audi is always blocked in with either my hilux or my lads car, it’s got a disc lock covering the steering wheel as well.
Can’t put it in the garage….. that’s where I keep my restored Landrover defender 90.🤫🤫
We remove the wire on the starter motor join it to some two core cable run that into the car fit a switch hide it somewhere then fit the wire to the starter motor, they won’t hang about long if they carnt get it started they will move onto the next target

Checked all ring cameras etc.
They parked out the way and all wore black clothing and balaclavas, cameras don’t seem to be a deterrent...

Do you have your own Ring or similar?
They don't always offer a deterrent and obviously you can't ID someone in a balaclava or see a car parked down the street, but the proximity alarm and ability to look outside without going outside are very useful. We have a ring doorbell which covers the whole drive, and a Ring camera elsewhere. You can define the area they "watch" and their sensitivity so it doesn't constantly pick up cars driving past, etc.

My wife has recently (6 weeks ago) bought herself an Audi rsq3.
Last night at 12.30, 6 balaclava wearing lads tried pinching it.
Me and the wife had just gone to bed and my 19 year old lad was sat watching tv in the lounge with the main light still on.
We heard a bang, curiosity got the better of me and I looked out of the bedroom window.
There was a car with lights still on, parked 20 yds down from our drive.
I called downstairs to my lad and asked what the bang was, he said he thought it was us making the noise.
I asked him to pop his head out the front door to see what the car was doing parked up down the road.
As he opened the door there was a lad about 15 foot away who had a glass bottle in his hand. After much shouting the scumbag ran towards the door and my lad slammed it.
He shouted up that they at least 6 lsds wearing balaclavas who were trying to pinch the car.
Police were rang and after 15 minutes 6 police cars arrived with an armed response vehicle.
They looked around and the bang must have been from them forcing a steel side gate open and it banging against the wall.
They were coming around to the patio doors at the rear of the house.
Police just said they’d cruise around the area for abit and try and check cameras in the local area.
Long and short is that you don’t seem to be able to have anything nice that you’ve worked for and the police are too stretched to really investigate.
Armed police obviously knew I had firearms on the premises and the asked if I had a license!🤦
Scum of the earth!!.
What? the armed police? ;)

Sadly when you are lucky enough to get a “ hot” version Audi RS BMW M and Merc AMG’s they are a magnet for this type of scum. Live in a village in a close we have had 2 occasions in the last month of “people” late at night walking up to everyone’s front windows with key fob sensors trying to clone entry codes, sad reflection of world we live in

what i was meaning to say is id act firstly then after id lost my temper and done it i think afterwards which is a stupid thing to do isnt it as were meant to think first before we act

A few years ago my next door neighbour had a crap old Volvo one night someone stole the windscreen wipers. He said the next morning laughing bloody wipes needed replacement a long time ago. He replaced them the next day. Guess what happened 2 nights later

get yourself GAP insurance at least then you'll get the full replacement value

regarding the thieves unfortunately if they want something bad enough they will get it no matter what you do

It's a nightmare, just hope they don't return at a later date. I'd love another defender but the theft rate puts me off and I won't do it again. The other half who I've recently moved in with went to hide her car keys as we were going to bed and I suggested I'd rather that they were left out on the side. When she asked why I explained that if they were prepared to break in for keys, then they'd likely happily threaten us physically to get us to give up the keys, so I'd rather they just took them without needing that risk. We now don't hide keys overnight.

At least you are safe and the police attended, i did not had the luxury when my car was stolen.
Luckly i have a tracker on it and me an my missus went to steal it back from the scumbags ...
Called the police again when i found the car only to be told that they can't send anyone to assist as it was 6am and it was the shift change over... And to add insult to injury, they sent me a an email to complete a satisfaction survey...
Hope you filled the survey in and wrote a complaint to the PCC……

That would be a defend my castle moment for me.

Same here, but they'd be stood over me, presumably armed whilst I sleep. As much as I think face to face I can hold my own, in that situation I'd be exceptionally vulnerable.
We can all dream though.
I spent quite a while in New Mexico where the glove box was always packed. Why you may ask?
Previously I had a guy who had a bouncers business face to face to me tell me in my living room that he was going to kill me if I did not keep up the mortgage payments on the house that I had started with the "now his" GF of his while I was away in Germany (try taking that one to the Police) he had topped 2 times before and got away with it. Once at the Lafayette ballroom in Wolverhampton ca. a977-8 and the other time was around 1960 in Coventry city centre to a teddy boy. His name might have been Brian but it is lost in the mist of time now.

I’ve got a good story from a similar experience, but it is one for recalling over a beer in a pub rather than committing to in black and white.

You know…I read about a fault on some handles to gates etc…if a live cable was to fray and touch against the handle it can give a nasty shock…these old extension leads used for hedge trimmers often get cuts and frays.🤷🏻‍♂️
