Years ago when I had armed police called out on me by someone that didn't like the deer being managed I found if you do what the police ask of you and you don't shout at them the situation de-escalate very quickly. After everything was cleared up they obviously couldn't tell me who phoned but they said they would be talking to them about wasting police time.

That shouldnt matter treat people with respect, if they cant manage dont do it
So if this was a yoof with a knife, or a pikey stealing would/should the police be reprimanded for holding their arm and directing them?

We really need to decide if we want the police to do the job or not - sure, a bit of situational awareness wouldn’t have gone amiss however they did get reports of a firearm - and based on that info they must treat it as such.

After it was apparent that the call was false the caller should have been educated sternly on how they report things.

I've had nothing but good interaction with police. Another time a police man stopped to check my vehicle that was parked in a gateway very early one morning. He just asked a few questions because there had been some thefts around lately. I thanked him for keeping a eye out and not just driving by. He then helped me lift a deer in the back of my truck.

No judgement from me but must have been a rotten experience for anyone to go through - and in their own garden!
Thank heavens the dogs didn’t attack the police - with so many guns about and lots of adrenaline flowing it could so easily have ended up like the OK Coral - then what….

I’m not going to say all interactions with the police have been great, I’ve met some weapons grade throbbers, but then I’ve met some weapons grade throbbers in most walks of life!

In this case she could have made it easier and he could have approached it differently as well.

I’ve had this twice, malicious complaints leading to police action. Cheshire and North Wales police have a combined armed response team. They SWOTed me and were much, much worse that in this video. Muzzles in my face through a window etc. Some of the female officers effectively had panic attacks. I was wearing crocs. Merseyside Police called me on my mobile, the officer said “I’ve read your file and I knew this report would be an unfounded malicious complaint. I will have a team visit the caller and advise them that harassment and wasting police time are serious charges.”

On my video it shows her shooting at a steel target, was there a buck in the background if so I never noticed it.

No need for racist language, but those situations arent what was shown. Police shouldnt touch you unless its needed, it wasnt, dog training isnt a crime

Racist language? Calm yourself to a frenzy….😂

And it may not be dog training but when you have instructed somebody to move to a position several times and they are still yabbaling and protesting sometimes some
Guidance is required.

A shining example of the boys in blue, bullies on a power trip.
I hope he is looking for another job soon, how was man hanfling her justified? Excessive force
It looks to me that she was being treated as a victim/witness who was being taken out of harms way. If she was a suspect she would have had two officers at least, lethal and less lethal cover and been handcuffed.

You'd be amazed at how people act when they don't think they're in danger, either because they think nothing is going on or they aren't aware of how serious an incident could be.

The 999 call said that 10 shots had been fired and someone was shot so the police have most likely responded with the urgency being on first aid to whoever was shot and neutralising the threat if it was still there, whilst trying to gather as much extra information as possible.

In order to be as safe as possible the police will want to use a Firearms Support Dog to help clear the location and building if necessary, something which they can't do with other dogs running about hence the urgency for her to get the dogs away.

Yes, its very much in the public domain but perhaps I should have been more specific in my concern. Namely I see little benefit to the deerstalking/shooting community in providing yet another platform for those SD members who might, at best, be said to hold the Police Force in less than high regard.

The main issue is people are commenting based on the edited version of an incident without using their brains to see both sides.

While i think this was a tad OTT and its not a good example of how armed response should respond... i would be interested to hear the actual 999 call, what was said, the allegation that some had been shot! That will determine how they respond to an incident.

It is OTT but only because we know it was a false alarm through hindsight. The officers responding didn't know that and have to treat every response on the merits of the call, which was shots fired and a person had been shot. If they'd sent a couple of PCSO out to see what was up and there was someone shot then there would even more of a problem.

Crikey! Can you imagine that K9 Unit pooch rocking up with all those other pooches?!? "Woof woof bow wow, ello ladieeeeeeeees!!! Wanna see my truncheon!?" :coat:

I can just imagine the general publics response if someone had been shot, 10 shots had been fired and the police waltzed in saying hello madam and having a chat with some lady who had been training her dogs and mistook that for the real incident…the police would be hung by social media.
