Their physical approach was hardly suggesting a threat was apparent. A couple of your posts have given me a smile today - especially your one commenting on their situational awareness…. Thank you.
From what I saw in the video (which is limited) they were suggesting there could be potential danger.

The woman’s own interview where she says “they were dressed in black, they had guns and I could only see their eyes”…again, a bit dramatic when they also have “POLICE” splattered all over them….🙄

As I said earlier, in my opinion - it has all the makings of a claim being set up by a solicitor for them who has advised they make sure they show how traumatised they are…and at the moment a nomination for an Oscar may be submitted.

I'm sorry for taking it off subject

FWIW I didn't think you had.

Most of these threads 'develop' into folks recounting their experiences with (in this case) Police.

If this 'discussion' were taking place in the pub (now wouldn't result in some 'self-regulating moderation')...

...then yours would be exactly the type of story, folks would chuck into the mix.

It's only the t'intent. It's all good.

My sympathy lies with both

The arse - I suspect - was the initiator who called in about the so called 10 shots, and, in so doing, deliberately set about initiating a situation

You can’t train a response team, send them into a potentially hostile environment, then criticise them for controlling the scene

I didn’t see anything that was excessive from the cops, nor did I see anything but confusion and ‘standing up for one’s self’ from the property owners

The villain (s) were not in the video

It would be interesting to see all video footage by both parties right from the moment that the police arrived at the gate. It is impossible to make a valid judgement unless all unedited video is viewed.
Correct. Verdicts out as far as I'm concerned. In fact I'd come down on the side of the police from what I saw. I saw no undue force or language been used. But that may change by seeing the police body cams.

I’m sure I saw members of the team carrying at collapsed low ready posn - that’s not shouting imminent or ‘potential danger’.

The main issues I have had with police over the years has been the failure to attend either at all, or in a timely manner or when they did attend they did something stupid…

Example - about 18 years ago I had a motorcycle stolen from an open garage in daytime, I called within 10 mins and let them know, they took over 2 hours to attend (even though it had just happened) and when they attended they walked into the garage and the first comment was regarding the size of a number plate that was on one of the bikes still there and how it was illegal…

The same bike I recovered the next morning in the same village by way of friends out searching and word of mouth - it was found in a back garden as the thieves couldn’t bypass my hidden isolator switch. Now when I went to get the bike from said garden the home owner told us they phoned to let the police know it was there and no one had shown up….i had been there for an hour and the police then turned up and tried to tell me I couldn’t move it as they needed evidence…🙄 a bit late and of no use at all in this case, and they never did fine any evidence they mentioned.

Things like that make you lose faith in the system.

I have about 4 instances where they have let me down unfortunately but I understand they are undermanned, have their hands tied and sometimes have more important issues to deal with.
I’ve had similar experiences.
But we all just have to go along with it unfortunately.
If you call the police for anything you just know you’re kind of wasting your own time.

I see what you mean but it could be just a matter of perspective as images are only two dimensional. I'm prepared to give the benefit of the doubt that the rifle could have possibly been pointing in a safe direction.
Best watch the video, any doubt is removed as you watch it sweep through. It would have just been better for that clip not to have been included in their film as it is contrary to its purpose.

Quite.

Everyone can make an error but the worst thing is the apparently experienced party here had done nothing preventative and didn't seem to even notice the incident! Some restorative instruction required, i think - for both parties. Perhaps it was given off-camera.
