True, but if they guy got stopped at customers and landed you in it, there’d be a knock on the door asking why you sold to someone who was going to export them.

Just saying as an fyi - it happens a lot and someone will get caught out. EBay sellers shipping to Europe and further are playing a dangerous game, many don’t check the laws before they do so sadly.

The Zulus is excellent (now on the .222) and you do not need an add-on IR unless you are out on a moor but the focus is sooooo fiddly - to the point of irritation.

interesting, I have a need for a new nv scope and the Zulus was what I was looking at. But is the focus really so fiddly? That would put me off specially if the fox keeps moving. My C50 has a decent depth of field but it is somewhat pricey and I like the idea of the rangefinder.

The focus is very sensitive but you can fit a pinhole cover that eliminates the need to focus during daylight.

It is going on my 223 for foxes so would be mostly night time use.

I think you'd just need to get used to the focus. TBH i fitted a breakaway coaster on mine as a throw lever so the weight of it might be pulling the focus out. I might remove it for a while and see how i get on.

It's not the scope that's focus fussy, it's the person using it being fussy about how well they want it focussed

True - to a certain extent MJ. There is certainly no issue for me about being able to take a safe shot - the clarity is certainly good enough for that but it is frustrating if you are recording both in terms of delaying the speed of taking the shot and the quality of what is recorded (see example). It is certainly not a deal-breaker rather it is the only criticism I have for the otherwise excellent Zulus….

I don't find the focusing an issue. It's just fast or sensitive and requires some finesse of which I possess little of. So if I can get used to it I'm sure others can also.

I'd agree with you, I can get away with setting the focus up and then it's good for shots on deer from 50m-200m with no adjustments needed. You can fiddle with it to get really crisp images and the adjustments are very fine between crystal clear and then not so I fitted one of the 3d printed adjuster levers (£8 on eBay) which has hugely helped.

I assume it's so fiddly because it is able to focus from a few metres to thousands of metres. Maybe the 3-12 version should have a limited focus range for air rifles, maybe 5-100m and then the 5-25 doesn't need to be able to focus down so close due to the higher mag and narrow field of view? I don't know enough about how the lenses work to know if this is the reason or solution but it makes sense in my head!

The IR is a vcsel rather than an LED, so it will be interesting to see if Sportsman Gun sell them
