ATN X Sight 5 Firmware Update July '24

If you have an open box LRF then you are not on the latest FW. The latest version download features a green cross hair within the LRF target box to allow a finer range precision. The release date was approx. 14 days ago

On my scope the LRF aiming point is a green cross with the vertical being formed by 2 green lines close together
That would appear to be the same as you described
I would have thought that firmware numbered 5.1.07.xxxx would be newer than firmware numbered 5.1.06.xxxx ?

Cheers

Bruce

The one I have says 5.1.06.782.33vf but no green cross in LRF but on the website the update is the same one that’s on the one I have .?
Same for me, the LRF is a red big diagonal with a red box in the middle. Tried to download the update again and popped it into the scope, but no difference 🤷‍♂️

Gents -

I have spoken with our webteam, and the new .839 version is for XYZ reason not pulling through as it should online.

We will have this fixed shortly - bear with us. Thank you for highlighting this so we can get it resolved.

I will update shortly again.

Peter

That's the same version already installed on my recently purchased new X Sight5 5-20LRF
It seems to work ok except for:
a. No PiP
b. No standby mode
c. No freeze frame when zeroing
d. Button presses frequently result in nothing happening or something happening that shouldn't happen
d. And worst of all, it takes up to 7 seconds to move the reticle to the point of aim after pressing the LRF button :banghead:

Cheers

Bruce

Not bothered about PiP, I know some will, but knew this wasn’t a feature when I bought it, I don’t use it on my Zulus.
Not bothered about standby, as the battery will last about 14 hours turned on all the time, never need to change the battery, or worry about the LRF not working when it drops below 20% as it does with the Zulus.
Freeze frame would be nice, but the recticle stays at the PoA so this overcomes that for me anyway. This is nice on the Zulus.
Button presses not always doing anything, yes this is a bit annoying. No issues on the Zulus.
Recticle not moving after LRF for 7 seconds, not experienced that, but then as I’m using it on a 17HMR it really doesn’t come into play for me, just need it to tell me the range, probably will be annoying for sub-12 or FAC air though, if it is a standard issue not just confined to your unit Bruce.

These are just my thoughts and views
