Well my FAC has finally returned, with a space for a 6.5mm Creedmoor.

I am seeking advise as to which rifle I should go for?

Firstly this is going to operate as my main Deer rifle, but if I get on with it then will also double up on Fox's.

Haenel Jaeger, Bergara Carbon Crest, Sauer Pantera and Sako Finnlight 2.

So I am looking at weight and on the end will be a Stalon/Freyer & Devik mod.

The Other thing is that I want it quite short, but dont want to give up accuracy.

Anyway would welcome your thoughts and or other suggestions.

cheers and happy hunting.

Hi I have a Sauer 404 in 6.5x55, great rifle very accurate, but heavy.
What your looking for ie Short, Light, are very important, have you looked at the Styer Scout in 6.5 ticks all the boxes, Light, Short, and very accurate.

this is short, light and very accurate

As a Tikka fan I would advise that direction. I currently own a 6.5 in the T3X Roughtech Ember.

I also considered the Begara range as it does have many stock barrel options at a decent price and hear pretty good things.

Advise with anything shooting, get your hands on a few and see what you think.

Be careful.

Hornady 123gr 6.5 factory: speed on box 2900fps, speed on crony from 24" barrel 2780fps !

Less ~25fps/inch = 2780 - 125fps = 2660 fps. Gee.

Get yourself to several gunshops and handle as many as you can, see which feels the most comfortable and fits you, even better if they have the ability to let you try them. Then you’ll have your answer.
Most people here will tell you what they have and what suits them might not suit you.

this is short, light and very accurate

I’d be buying this one, not a fan of short creedmoors but if it’s not for the range 19” will be fine.
