Funded PDS 1 & 2 training

The few female stalkers I know would knock spots off the average male. They certainly wouldn’t come out with some of the utter garbage that I read on here on a daily basis!
One wonders why you stay on here if its that bad? Or is it just to f...kin complain all the time and cause issues with people??? It must be wonderful to be so perfect all the time.

And yet you make no comment about post #18 which several on here find offensive and is personal to one poster on here particularly.
In fact, several people have commented about post 18 but you only come after me.
Please tell us why that is?

On top of this, how many stalkers will qualify for the PDS2 funding? - if they're already shooting 50+ deer (fallow) on ground on the High Weald, they already know how to do the job & quite probably already have DSC2 or are experienced enough that doing the qualification isn't really going to teach them anything they don't already know!?

All seems to be a bit of a trumpet blowing exercise to me, just saying.
I only did copy and paste from the original posted link I have no connection to said scheme.

Wasn’t a dig at you mate just pointing out that as well as reference to ‘selection’ for PDS1 being a little ‘biased’ perhaps, the ‘selection’ for PDS2 also looked a bit askew!
Yes I only pointed out the PDS 1 as that's the most people get their knickers in a twist about before wildly veering off post and spouting Bo#*cks.

Like I Pm'ed if you have a complaint, PM admin.

I for one encourage any lady to take up deer stalking, what makes anyone on here believe that they are not able to do so is beyond me. Over the years I have had a number of ladies stalking with me as clients. Everyone has been a delight to deal with, good shots, careful and listens to advice. Which is more than I can say for some male stalkers who I have guided as clients. Some of whom I would never entertain again. That's never been the case with any lady stalker I have taken out and guided.

We live in a changing world, and the more we encourage women to take up deer stalking, the more power to us all as deer stalkers. Even one of our lady members on here, Mouse, has gone onto to make a career as a deer stalker, and is now working for the BDS. More power to her I say, what an achievment.

Yes she has. Landed it a few months ago, as I told Malc earlier!
But I knew this before you mentioned it. I would add that she also got a lot of encouragement and some help from members on here too.
But it goes to show with determination and drive young ladies and men can achieve their goals in life.

I find it baffling when it’s announced that it’s hard for women to get into stalking. Fieldsports Britain announce it on a regular basis. It’s an oft repeated rhetoric.

It’s hard for anyone to get into stalking! No one is waiting with permissions poised ready, waiting, for anyone.

My experience of women in shooting sports is that they are welcomed with open arms. I run a game shoot and have a lady gun, and several beaters and pickers up and I can say with a clear conscience they have been made very welcome from day one. Judging by the actions of BASC etc I think women are afforded much better opportunities at an earlier stage in their ‘shooting career’ than most men.

It's not hard for anyone to get into stalking, male or female.
What is difficult for women is working their way up through the ranks once they've started, particularly if they want to do it professionally. There is a general assumption (as seen in a few comments on here) that they won't be capable, or strong enough, or too squeamish, or whatever, and it's a real struggle for them to shake off this prejudice.
They prove time and time again that they're just as capable as their male counterparts, if not more so. Yet still the prejudice persists, making it harder for them to gain employment in the sector (or simply to be taken seriously, if stalking recreationally).

And then there's the whole risk factor, perceived or otherwise, associated with going on (or, later in career, guiding on) paid stalks. There are a lot of lady stalkers who start out but make little progress due to the - understandable - fear of having to meet up, alone, in the middle of nowhere, in the dark, with an unknown bloke with a rifle. You say they're welcomed "with open arms". Perhaps that's exactly what they're afraid of? Same applies to doing DSC2 witnessed stalks. Which is one of the reasons why Mouse is now an AW - so women who want to take DSC2 can have a female witness if that makes them more comfortable.
