I've had a 204 for some years now and really like it. As others have said, it is lethal on foxes, with no recoil, and very flat shooting.
Some are still here and can't bring themselves to Creedmoor! The people who wanted to experiment and have something other than a .223 have disappeared (probably all bought a Creedmoor)
Yup. Love mine. Stay with the tried and tested. A 22 creed wouldn't be of any real benefit to a 22250. I don't know if 22 creed is available from factory so you'd have to get one made so why not get a faster twist barrel on a 22250. Be a formidable tool that.Does anyone like a 22-250 still ? I have got a sako varmit and tbh I wouldn’t mind changing it for something what about a 22 creedmoor ?
If I ever shoot my cz 527 out I will knock on your door again.10 or 15 years ago I was rebarreling lots of .222’s to various .20 cals. Now I probably do a couple of .204 Ruger’s a year. The people who wanted to experiment and have something other than a .223 have disappeared (probably all bought a Creedmoor)
Still got lots of .20 cal blanks in stock.
You have a great rifle in a great calibre, I wouldn't change it unless you really needed to.Does anyone like a 22-250 still ? I have got a sako varmit and tbh I wouldn’t mind changing it for something what about a 22 creedmoor ?

Did you get to pick up the new toy? Pic?Love the 204. Picking up a M77 in it today![]()
Nope. He's there all tomorrow - but I will have my 3yo with me!!Did you get to pick up the new toy? Pic?
What twist will you go for?I have had my .204 years. Go to rifle and a shame it's not deer legal in England and Wales.
My only wish would be if Lapua would make .204 brass.
I need to book mine into Dasherman for a rebarrel tighter twist so better for 39/40 bullets.
I think mine has done at least 2000 rounds probably more.

M77's are lovely!Love the 204. Picking up a M77 in it today![]()
Getting a MK2 tomorrow. Can't wait to get out on foxes again.M77's are lovely!
My 1/10 twist 204 lothar walther barrel shoots all bullets very well. Including the 50grn bergers.Probably 1:10 but need to discuss with Neil. I have 204 bullets in all weights and makes inc some 50 grn Bergers. Ideally it will live on a diet of either 39 BK or 40 Vmax.

If you're going to have a Vartarg, try using mil spec .223 brass. The case heads are stupidly thick, and allows the 20VT to get insane performance. I had a buddy doing this, so know for a fact that the parent brass really does make a difference.
