I live in baseball caps, mesh back trucker ones, usually realtree. So much so some mates had a charachtuer (how the hell do you spell that??) done for my 40th which included me with baseball cap on head & sheep under arm. Unfortunately I managed to lose it 😣😩. (I lose lots of things)

......the cap, the sheep or your arm? 🤔

I have a baseball cap when out shooting, if it gets cold I put a beanie over the top and down over my ears. I like the baseball type peak for rain, but also to shadow my eyes/face easily by facing down slightly.

A beanie in winter for shooting and when out and about. In summer an Akubra (not the western style) but it's no good when shooting; the brim clashes with the scope. A floppy no-name thingy that reminds you of a boonie does the job when out with the rifle.

Cheers

The new crusher hat has a bit bigger brim than the older ones and is inclined to catch the wind, turning the front up makes you look like Paddington Bear.

I usually carry a fleece snood with me for similar reason, make an effective combo

Never understood traditional flat caps - they leave your ears exposed.

Been bald since my late teens, so hats are critical. Always have a beanie to hand, and a folding baseball cap if it warms up. In low sun winter conditions, I often resort to beanie over baseball cap…

For stalking I love using both the Harris Tweed 8 piece flat cap (I purchased mine from Harris Tweed Isle of Harris) and a Tyrolean loden hat (mine is from Lodenhut Manufaktur).

I wear one of these most of the time. Fits well and is a great cap:

These are brilliant when its cold:

I carry a Buff neck gaiter all year round. Useful in all seasons.

I, like many others on here have a selection of hats and the weather usually decides which one is worn.
Usually, a shooting type baseball cap, (Harkila) but an old tweed flat cap which suffered a burn injury from the bulb in the cupboard under the stairs, and a large brimmed wax cotton hat have made guest appearances.
Some time back I bought a Derby Tweed baseball cap which has been described as ‘the poshest baseball cap in the UK’ but I think it’s actually too good for stalking !
If I were in the market for a new hat, then it would mean a visit to Decathlon. They do seem to have a good range at sensible prices.
