Hikmicro alpex changes set magnification

I have a hikmicro alpex 4k LRF. I go into the menu and set the magnification I want and click the button to lock it in or so I think. Go into, say, ballistic calculator or maybe laser range finding only to find that the magnification has changed from where I set it to the minimum magnification of 3.5x. How do get it to stay where I put it? Note that I DO click the button to lock the selection in. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Wasn’t aware you could set the magnification - why would you want to fix it? Only option I am aware of is to have either stepped or fully variable changes. Maybe it does something I haven’t found out about yet?

I don't think you can "lock the magnification to a single foxed values
AFAIK you can only set it such that when you turn the knob, the magnification values double (3.5/7/14/28), or change in steps of x0.1

The latest update has done away with the x0.1 stepping thank goodness. Now goes in x1.0 increments
