Handy for foxing…

As an update to the caller - there is a repeat button (just noticed today - don’t ask) which plays your mp3 track of choice…. err…. repeatedly.
It’s even marked “REP”.
I am soooooo old….

Was just going to post same as foxyboy.
Got mine today and was a bit mystified as to the problem with repeat of the call and I bet I am older....😀
Only problem I have and I have it with my other caller is getting the same sequence of calls as a printout I have of the call list.

There’s going to be much head scratching in the Chinese ministry tasked with listening in to all these “MP3 players” that are all of a sudden in high demand in the UK, hours and hours of grown men making squeaking noises. They’ll be working through the night trying to decipher the code.

Ah! I have been rumbred!
Prease say no more - me get a srice of the plofits….

Well my better half has just informed me that my much anticipated Y-501 has been delivered all the way from the PRC just 8 days after ordering.
Woohoo!🎉

Unfortunately I’m still offshore until next Monday (fingers crossed about the weather) so can’t play with my new toy until I get home.
Boo!😒

Even if the God of weather is playing ball, I will only be home for 6 nights before returning offshore for another 24 days, so getting a pass to go foxing in that time might be a tall order. 🤞

Terribly!

I am possibly the worst person to zero a full bore. I accept that I am not a good shot but even still, I do not know how I mess it up so badly every time. The first group of three was poor, so I was worried about the ammunition not being right. I need it for next week and have no time to get out and buy more or re test. I frugally bought one box a few weeks ago but haven’t had chance to test until yesterday. I must have clicked the turrets twice as I had been faffing about waiting for the barrel to cool and restless: thinking about ‘nipping to find different coppers’, questioning if they are ‘stabilising in such a short barrel’, ‘is the barrel spent’, ‘am I awful at shooting’, ‘does this stock suddenly not fit me’, has the ‘scope broken’, ‘are the mounts loose’, ‘have I developed a flinch’ etc…. Ok, I’ll video myself to see what the problem is and concentrate on follow through. Next two shots were ok for tightness but clearly I had massively overdid the adjustments so was just as far from the bull but on the opposite side 😭

I brought them right back for the next two, then slowly walked onto just high of the bull whilst worrying equally about the failing light and using up my dwindling supply. I was hoping for 1.5” high but settled where I was as I need some rounds left for the fallow! I was so angry with myself… in an ideal world I would zero when I have all the time in the world, plenty of paper and plenty of rounds. In reality there is always pressure, dusk waits for no man.

Never again. 🤣

You are in for a treat L!
As reported first night out defo 3 foxes and a likely 4th came to it - being pocket-sized it really is so handy and now that I have discovered the “Repeat” button it is even easier to use.
I was out for an hour just after lunch yesterday, stood off from a long narrow wood with my back against a tree and set up the sticks. But silly old FB started the Y-501 before turning on the Zulus and instantaneously a lovely fox came out of the trees on my hard lhs - coming straight at me like an express train. I saw it at the same time it saw me and I swear our jaws dropped in unison! It wasn’t quite a handbrake turn but it did a good impression of a tailspin which even Tom or Jerry would have been proud of. Needless to say it never reappeared!
To date I have simply been hanging it on the front fork of the B&Q quads but this week I intend to set it up on a fence post a little way off - so far I have been delighted with the results - updates to follow….

I notice that the original sub-£4 price has rocketed to £9 or more - still a bargain though!

Ordered two more of these great little machines (one to live in each Jimny - yes I do have two Jimnys) on 6th with a promised delivery date of 14th. Unlike the last order which arrived bang on schedule this time, I received an apology together with a £1 voucher on the due date as my delivery would be delayed……
Sooo this am they arrived - a whole day late and from a land very, very far away.
Some local suppliers would do well to take heed of the AliExpress customer service and for only two items with a total combined cost of £20.

Not guilty!
Funny thing is and as reported on this thread a pal paid that sort of money for one and it was his fault I started off on my pilgrimage.
To be fair this Ebay chap has to acquire the callers, go to the time and effort of sourcing calls, download them and pay for an SD card and P&P, so for £40-odd quid it’s not such a bad price for what's in essence a pretty good pocket-rocket caller - as reported my moderately bodged version has worked really well already.
Meanwhile my highly inflated (£20 incl. delivery less a quid voucher for being one day late) new couple arrived today and now have their calls installed - one permanently in my foxing vest and one in each of the two Jimnys (one of which is the permanent home of the excellent but significantly larger Icotech 500 - other callers are of course available).
At my age you simply can’t be too careful….
