A whole day with the dogs yesterday,walked up on a few rough places and then finished with a flight on the last pond.
Was hard going with some places having close to 8 inches of snow and the dogs put in a good old shift and again the pup Buck excelled considering it's his first day of this.Flushed 3 pheasants including one that ended up a runner and took them all back.
Evening was bitter and after a hectic half hour with very smoky barrels managed to pick up 7 of the 13 ducks we had down.With Jake pretty much worked himself to standstill and 3 ducks still on the ice we called time and held hame.
Back oot before daylight with the waders in the back and minus 5 for a bit of ice breaking but unfortunately it was more a dip than a wade with it being a tad deeper than the last time i had to do it but got the 3,plus 2 of the others that i had marked from the night before.Absolutely soaking but it doesn't last long.
Cracking day all round and things will get a wee break for now.
