This is the greenhouse heater I referred to earlier in this post, I actually think the warmth from it made him uncomfortable, I would often come down on really cold mornings and he would be asleep on top of his kennel, It was only set to come in really cold temp and only set low.

I drilled holes at the top of the bed box to make sure the heat got into the kennel part itself…
But I would still find my labs sleeping out in on the concrete - I don’t think it was the heat, they just liked being outside.
Many years ago my 2 German shepherd's lived outside in a small shed I put a divide in it at 90 degrees to the entrance which was open to let them in and out just after moving in the night temp was well below zero, I went out worried about them only to find it was really warm inside. You could always put a max / min thermometer inside to see what's happening.

She’s gettin on great, just bought a heat lamp with the deal that it’s only on for 1h per day but most nights I forget to turn it off
, also got her a thermal jacket that I think keeps her pretty warm during the day but she’s very happy and playful with my other dogs so think she’s plenty warm, she’s learning fast and a very happy pupGreat to hear!
