Oh dear! Been there lost that too - seems to be a common problem.I'm having a bit of a bad day!.
Noticed today that this morning I've lost the eye piece off the 520. I've sent a request to OW.
Then I noticed some unpleasantness in the barrel of my 222 that needed a scrub to remove! It has some corrosion activity now.
So I'm off out to check it.
I'm going to have to improve my barrel care regimen!
I've also been out to track a fox and tracked him I did. I also found where it's fed on a woodcock!
I contacted DNT who advised that the eyepiece was not a stock item but sent me a free replacement pretty much immediately. A couple of turns of electric tape will hopefully prevent repetition.
Good to see that the triple deuce is still doing the business too.

Out foxing the other night on the golf course. Got to my usual stand and in the distance i could see one head down working away, dead flat expanse and houses beyond its never a shot so you either have to wait or call them into a safe area, sometimes to no avail and they disappear into the gardens.
Put the caller in the usual place and hit vixen on heat, when it works it works! one came steaming in like a train looking for some sexy time. Bread and butter shot 112yds.
Up this morning to catch up with a group of Roe that have found their way into the plantation, nailed a couple so another trip will be imminent.

Bugger, I got there just half an hour late. But, it came out just where I tracked it earlier. It went to the woodcock feathers and went back. Up a rise cocked a leg on a tree and just as I waited for it to turn it's arse away from me, disappeared .
That was just before 19:00. I need to be in place at 18:00 and I'll leave something tasty for it too.

My last little night-time foray until Christmas was a few rats on a poultry unit, I did take a foxing rifle just in case one was trotting around the huts but it was a rats only night, 73 slain so I was happy 
.
.After a good week stuck in with some cough that would wake the dead. Finally got out tonight nice strong breeze with a bit of damp in the air. Found a 2 paired up mooching about. Dropped dog fox at about 180 yards. As walked in noticed the vixen had not gone far a quick maneuver and dropped her about a 130 yards.
A bit further and another fox came out of hedge but would not stop. Whistle squeak fart etc etc. Finally stopped to look at a Badger and managed to drop him at just over 150 yards no 105 for the year. 73 since first of August with no signs of slowing up

Either those are two very large foxes or that is a very small single one.

I had a bumper night ! I set up shop at about 630 this evening. Nothing much was stirring, a sika hind and calf stuck their heads out of a wood and went back in. I’ve a great field of view from my vantage point so I was scanning 360 degrees. About 730 a fox appeared about 170 yards away trotting steadily in towards me.
I quickly switched on the Yukon and settled down behind the stock. I picked up the fox in the scope and gave a quiet “Oi”. Never fails
. One down and I congratulated myself.
15 minutes later a walker (damn them) headed up a track and out of sight. However I think he spooked the next fox which appeared out of a hedge stopping occasionally to look backwards. It got closer and stopped broadside at 190 yards and down it went also.
I reckoned that was probably it for the evening but I felt the need to check out a heat source on the side of a wood about 250 yards away. I walked up closer and discovered it was a sheep lying down away from the rest of the flock.
Oh well and had a quick scan through the Accolades and b#gg#r me there was a fox walking in the field about 80-90 yards away. I quickly got on the sticks but it saw the movement and took off casually. Another “Oi” stopped it at about 150 and then I stopped it permanently.
I walked over to it and checked it, a vixen. So I took a photo. Had a quick scan and nearly fell over with surprise to see another fox apparently oblivious to the photo session about 100 yards away. Luckily I’m made of sterner stuff, gathered my senses and surprise into an orderly bundle and sent the 4th on its merry way. 3 vixens and one dog fox in under an hour.

Can you explain why you made a post about one of my family members to the point you received a warning and it was removed, a sd member recommended I need to grow thicker skin but personal (not very nice comments) made about a members daughter has happen a couple of times.Wow! Good job.

What would possess you to make such a comment as I hope you will explain on here with out the poor excuses of it was meant as a joke or some other bull###it excuse?
I hope whatever that was Tim, was well outside any similarities of comment I made, referring to getting thicker skin, Joshing is just that, but that sounds like something completely different.

Because of what I see as the seriousness of your post and your now bringing it into the SD public forum I feel obliged to respond.
For clarity I have always enjoyed reading your posts but obviously I do not know you, your personal circumstances or any of your family; nor indeed is that any of my business - period. You also do not know me but I would point out that in excess of 12,000 posts by me have never for a moment attacked anyone (except the occasional idiotic politician - but they deserve it) or impugned their family - nor would I ever wish to, like ever!
As I had explained in my private message to you my post was a direct reference to the good fortune of another member who had enjoyed a fantastic day out thanks to your generosity and was posted with the honest intention, through what was intended as good humour, of emphasising that. I was utterly stunned therefore when I received notification that in doing so I had caused you any upset. After a brief exchange with Sikamalc I sent you an explanation and a fulsome apology for my entirely unintended distress which in my own defence and should anyone wish I am happy to append. I had thought that in doing so the matter was closed so was again stunned to see how you have reacted and the contents of your latest message on what is probably the largest SD public thread.
I fear that you are still seeing much more into my original silly post than was ever possible to intend and for that I am again sorry.

As an outsider in this situation it seems that there has been some dispute between you guys that l don’t want or will enter into, certainly none of my business, as both of you are very grown up adults and much respected members of this forum community it seems to me that “both” of you should forgive and forget.
