However illconcieved this lads plan was and to most it was a crazy thing to try, it surely doesn't merit being turned into a joke.
A lad had died, he will have left family behind.
Maybe I'm getting old and grumpy but it doesn't seem right making jokes out of someones death. Yes warn others not to try a simillar folly but thats all.

Why should we make fun of this situation.
this should be a lesson to all potential persons male/female that decide to go out into the wild ill equipt with no backup plan for emergencies.
respect the wild and always be prepared for the worst....
Some people find the call of the wild irresistable, wether they are prepared for it or not, as Andy quoted, A man's got to know his limitations........... shame he couldn't value his family's pleadings.

Know what guys go have a look in the mirror, wake up smell the coffee and get a life ,thats whats wrong with this country we're all to sympathetic to someone or something else who cares he's gone, he paid the ultimate price for his actions, Yes his Actions he made up his mind and followed it .
There are thousands like him who follow there calling throughout the world, some are lucky, some pay the price but sympathy doesn't enter into it, they had the ability to change there destiny so if your a person who looks for sympathy, look in the dictionary it is between shjt and syphilis
Unlike someone who dies of a disease like cancer, heart disease or old age or the like there demise to a extent is down to a act of god the drugs not working, whatever there is one thing for sure were all going the same place ,like it or not.
Had the Scottish Sun (Gutter Press) not put Bear Gryllis name to the print it would have ended up a three line story inside the paper, what i'd like to know what has it to do with Bear Gryllis ,why not Lofty Wiseman, Ray Mears,or the daddy of bush tucker, Les Hiddins or another thousand people ,reason Bear Gryllis'es name sells at the moment .

due to the tv ratings which bear gets i am not surprised that some wish to follow him.
he makes it look so easy and from what i see him do a relatively inexperienced guy could copy him
the reality is/may be different
but we cant poke fun at him for trying, if great explorers never tried anything we would all live in caves still.
we shouldn't laugh or joke at his failure, i bet if he succeeded we would all admire him
