I’d have another read, 6mm and 243 can be used, just depends which division you are planning on shooting in.The power one, velocity x weight unless I've read it completely wrong!
Good to know, I'll have a proper butchers throughI’d have another read, 6mm and 243 can be used, just depends which division you are planning on shooting in.
I think there is a requirement to carry all kit in section F, rule 7. I guess the issue in including all kit in the weights is folks maxing up rifle weight and not carrying tripod etc. It becomes 'gamey' as to allocating the extra weight between rifle and kit (eg Sticks & heavy hunting rifle Vs Tripod etc & lighter rifle Vs PRS rig with long bipod etc)There should be a requirement to carry all equipment on each stage, including tripods etc. Should also be included in class weights.

I agree, it was even put to the British public on a survey recently and hunting is very much perceived as horse and hound rather than shooting! I love this cultural differentiation in the UK to the rest of the world (that I know of!)Good luck with the new venture
If you are American you may not be familiar with the peculiarities of British vocabulary, here ‘hunting’ generally refers to the pursuit of game with dogs and a ‘hunter’ is a horse![]()

Yes you can, "no tripods, to be used" as a rule would prohibit it all.People can bring whatever they want, but they have to carry it, and there is some walking between stages including inclines.
We can’t limit what people carry, or penalise them for carrying too much, but fortunately gravity will do that bit for us.
Word to the wise, travel light!
Hey @Messy11 - the word ‘Gamey’ is banned in here!![]()
Yes you can, "no tripods, to be used" as a rule would prohibit it all.
Also, max all up weight would do that too.
It's your comp, do as you see fit, but to say that you can't limit things is wrong.
Hi @NRL Hunter UK if I compete with a non compliant setup ie not making the power factor and can’t achieve any legal scores will there be a discount on entry and will anyone keep my score or do I have to do that myself?
There are areas we need to be prescriptive, like rifle weights and ballistics, to keep the playing field as even as possible, but beyond that any attempt to limit what kit people use or carry (which they will have to do under their own steam) is counterproductive in my experience.
I get that some people see tripods as a Precision Rifle ‘thing’ but hunters and both Police & military marksmen have been using them in the field for as long as I can remember. They are just funny shaped shooting sticks after all!
Oh and an edit as I’ve only just seen the last line of your comment, apologies -
When you say ‘wrong’ do you mean ethically or practically? It isn’t clear.
Have a read-up on skills division or watch the below video, but in essence you can shoot with what you have, have your score recorded and be eligible for trophies/prizes etc!
And all our members benefit from discounted match fees!
Thanks for that that’s informative and helpful I’ll hopefully cu at eskdalemuir
