Are Bergara barrelled actions available in the UK?

It seems Bergara supply barrels only, to a number of other rifle manufacturers and gunsmiths.
I only know of one maker that used their barrels because I have one on a rifle other than a Bergara.
Ken.

I mentioned they are a “premier brand” as I understand some of their models are called premium or similar - yet use the same base action for all models - go figure ,,,,,,
Yes, I am not sure that I would be paying up for the Premium stuff ?

I have a B14 Ridge that I bought through a custom gun builder mate. His comment was that a lot of the people he had seen with them were getting good results so rather than rebarrel he suggested I bought a B14. Rather than do him out of business I bought it through him.

He wasn't happy with the crown so tidied it up for me. The blueing isn't great, but surprisingly it has not rusted. I bought it expecting to have to put a new stock on it, actually it is more robust than the factory tikka etc offerings so it is still there. The stock isn't the best design as it climbs a bit on recoil (270 Win) but the accuracy really surprised me. First (and last) group I shot was about 0.3". Now I don't for a minute believe it is that accurate but it certainly is not crap and whatever its true accuracy is, it is certainly more than good enough for the job so I am not wasting any more copper bullets to find out. Trigger is ok, Timney ish.

I bought it for the price (shoot the barrel out, throw it away, buy another - really just buying the action) and the semi weight barrel (hard to find particularly >20").

Blueing is not good enough, even for budget.

I have a mate that is a keeper on a big Estate in the Borders that bought 5 HMRs and he swears by them.

Came across this old thread. So things have moved on even more since.
I fancy the custom rifle builders are becoming obsolete now days. Save for top end target shooters or perhaps those who have the means and desire to have something personalised.
I have had my 243 re barreled 3 times. That comes from very hot loads and thousands of rounds. No change out of £1000 now so a new barreled factory action is certainty within reach. All my rifles are in chassy stocks so easily swapped. For most people they are far more accurate than the shooter. I know of several custom rifles that don’t shoot any better than my Hower or T3s. And some that shoot worse. The mighty T3 is now matched for accuracy by many factory rifles at a fraction of the cost. I totally understand riflesmiths want to protect their business but it appears from a previous post at least one is more pragmatic.
I grant that a change in action requires a variation but for most that’s once in a blue moon. Nothing is getting any easier with firearms nowadays.
Top another vote for factory actions.

Buy a howa barrelled action for about 500 quid. Stick it in a stock of your choice. It'll be a faithful servant. When it's cooked buy another.
Off topic, I know but when I got Gary Cane to build a Thumbhole Sporter laminated/bedded stock for my Howa 1500 6.5CM a lot of people thought I was mad - polishing a turd but tbh.........I am not sure that I could buy a better factory rifle for the total £1500 overall cost.

Ooops just realised the age of the thread
